Hi 🙂

I am running an Xbox One Forum, i have recently set up Google ads, and i have a decent domain name, i just can't seem to get any visitors, i have only selected 50p per day at the moment through google ads as i thought £15 a month would make a difference, does anyone have any tips? weather it's going to cost me or not, my forum is still abit dead. 🙁

You don't actually have to spend any money to advertise your forum. There are plenty of free alternatives to paid advertising that can bring visitors to your site. Converting visitors to subscribers is another story ...

Building a website, blog and or forum can be a freaking headache. I understand, I've started many different websites, and helped many people get their website off the ground. There are many things that you can do to get your forum going in the right direction, and most of it is free. When I say, free I mean free from spending any cash, but not free when it comes to your time.

If you are pressed for time, then you might want to think about investing in a few services that can help you get a jump start on your activity.( I use to boost forums as a living, you have a potential friend in me  )

With that being said, here are a few things you can do to get the ball rolling so that you can get some traffic flow to your new forum.

Post exchange is a good way to get traffic to your xbox forum. Since there are so many different forums out there looking for new members, you can participate in other forums, by putting together a post exchange agreement with the admn. How does it work? You post in their forum and they post in your forum. Just kind of look for forums that are in the same niche as your forum, so that you can network more closely with admins who share your interest.

The one thing I want you to start doing is stop focusing on the fact that you own a forum. Focus on the fact that you own a content sharing site. It operates much the same as a website or blog. With that being said, you have to understand that your forum needs content, quality content!

Without this, your forum will die. Search engines thrive off of new, fresh content and they rank based on relevant links and content. So whenever possible you need to updating your forum with high ranking keyword focused CONTENT. Are you focusing on the right keywords? Are you choosing keywords that have low to medium competition? Are you choosing keywords that offer over 1,000 views a month? ( a figure I'm flexible when it comes to views) Do some keyword research and begin building content around these keywords, along with filler keywords.

You need activity. No one wants to join a forum that doesn't have activity. This is where forum boosting comes into play. There are many services out there, who will create real, natural activity so that your forum looks appealing to potential members. Either you can purchase them, or spend your life creating activity yourself. (I'm available whenever you need me, NOT FREE, but available 😎 )

I could give away ALL THE SECRETS, in this one post but I won't. Start with these first and send where they get you over time. I'll be around.

A good way to generate huge traffic is social media promotion. Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Stumble Upon are good resources to promote your website and generate large traffic.

I would have to agree, social media plays a huge part of advertising these days and business are investing heavily on these particular advertising streams and looking at ways on how these methods help them grow.

RE: Google Ads - how much traffic are you getting through there? Can you optimize it by selecting content-targeted advertising or any other methods? Just letting it run without optimization will doom the campaign for failure.

From my personal experience, I'd say post exchanges and search engine optimization is the way to go. Other ways such using Facebook, Twitter..etc will also help out with traffic.

as Graffiti said and Content Is King you got that it will all go better.

Don't worry about members think about content first.

Create backlinks for your site on other websites in your signature and promotion forums like this.

Like what YSmith said, I forgot to mention that backlinks are also helpful. The more backlinks, the better.

Graffati gave me advice via PM you could try adding your site to a top site list 🙂

He gave me that advice via PM

I have been affiliated with many popular websites and forums over the years and I have also operated my own Blogs, Forum based websites..etc and it takes a lot of hard work and dedication to get the traffic you want. I myself prefer organic traffic from search engines or manually typing in my website URL.

Here are some things you might want to look into to help you boost your traffic over time. Now, keep in mind getting traffic to your website does not happen over night and will take a lot of time and dedication.

1, Advertise on social media websites via Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, Google+...Etc (I personally love Google+ I get instant traffic posting my content to Google+)

2, SEO If you want to get traffic from big search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing then you will need to do some searching on how to SEO your forum based website. Try a search like "How to SEO forum?"

3, Posting on high PR forums will help you out. Search for some high rated forum based websites and register and make sure they allow a signature (Most big named forums will have limits to a text link only in your signature)

4, Search around and post on blogs that are similar to your niche. I personally love posting on websites that have comments run by "Diqus" it's a great way to get instant traffic and has been working pretty well for me.

Let me know if you have any more questions or would like more tips. Hope this helps!

Hi, I've use Fiverr. com or elance. com. I got a lot of traffic by paying to a professional seo expert. I hope this can help you!

I wrote a topic explaining this. You can read this viewtopic.php?f=22&t=127807 I hope this helps 🙂

Have you used postloop? that's a good way to start populating your forum. Very cheap to. I would do away with adwords, 50p per day might get you 2 visits..

15 per month on postloop would get you guaranteed posts and most likely 200-300 posts.
