Insane Domain Prices for Meaningless Numbers

The top domain name sale of the day was 00567.com selling for $60,500.00 at GoDaddy.

Well, the domain is 18 years old, but I didn't see it had any good metrics at all - in fact, zero. OK, what's the justification? I suppose it's being rare, but it's hard to believe 00567.com is rare.

Very old domains - even with good names - sell for far less on the internet. I mean, I'm talking between $1000 and $10,000 at the most.

This. Most of the value is coming from the Chinese domain market, which is big. This then gets other domain investors to buy them to try to sell at a higher price later.

Lmao, I would never spend that kind of money on a domain like that.

From my understanding from being around the domain market, is the numbers have gone up in popularity based solely on the fact of domain investors. Meaning, domainers are pretty much giving it value because they are grabbing them up to sell them on at higher prices, which then artificially inflates the prices.
