Well, yesterday I called Time Warner Cable about my RoadRunner internet going so slow to the point I could not play my xbox online without getting disconnected. So a technician came out today and looked at the problem. He ran tests on my modem and everything and my speeds were way down. So he got me a new modem and new cable that goes into the wall. Then he walked around the house and looked at the cable that they put in from the road. Well, he looked and said "Oh no...Oh man...". He said "This is waay wrong." "First of all, the cable isn't buried. That's a bunch of bull from the person who put this in and on the second note, this is not the right cable. Since you are running over 100ft to the road, the other Tech used this wire here. This wire here is only meant to go about 50ft."
The wire was all bent up and everything and he went to his van, ran a new wire. He replaced all the cables all the way to the box. This new wire is 2x thicker then the old one. He hooked everything up and then asked me how long as this cable been on top of the ground. I told him almost the whole time we have had internet. He said that was a major problem having it above ground. He said he will put in word about what the other tech done.
Before the new cables, I got a speed test of about .36kb/s upload. I am now getting 1mb. They will be out soon to locate the other lines and mark them and then a new team will come bury the line. I'm glad I called them!
