With Economic problems arising, a lot of people are left without jobs on the streets begging for food, clothes, and money. Is America going to gets its act together and survive this crisis? Im scared for everyone because I know, like in the first Depression, It was horrible. I just dont want that to happen during our time. It will suck for everyone. Post your opinions and stuff here.

Also, if you hate America and live in a different country, just remember, America runs most of the world. Without us.... Human Civilization couldn't thrive.

Thanks,

I think we will be ok .. just in the last few days the economy has been shown as 'leveling off' and just today it was announced that we are pulling out of the recession ... stocks have gone up the most since last year and a lot is on the rise... if we stay on this train for a while we should be good 😉 ...

It sucks that a lot of ppl are out of jobs I myself lost my internship but it was a lot worse for others 😕 hopefully they will be able to get back on their feet 😀

America is a wonderful country that has survived through the thick and thin, and I doubt a depression would happen again. Yes, the economy is bad, unemployment is high, and it hasn’t shown much improvement lately. While I honestly don’t trust the administration of this nation, I believe in the American people. Our president will not change the fate, neither will any other spokesperson at town hall meetings, we, the American people will need to learn to be conservative, and make do with the current conditions.

Why don't you trust the Administration? Just curious.

It is true that the people make the nation... Many officials have changed their views based on a majority public opinion 😉

In opinion, I believe the administration is full of socialism. (Social Security, Medicare, Welfare, and the possible outcome of national health insurance and further distribution of wealth in America.) While our nation is a great country, no matter how much you argue, you will never be able to convince me America is not made up of a lot of socialist and socialism in general.

Anything wrong with that? There are happy, successful countries out there with socialist elements and/or nationwide health-care coverage. If anything, we need more of this socialism than we already have. I hate walking around and learning about people who have lost their jobs and can't afford their insurance and lose it all and practically end up living in the streets. I do know a few people who have ended up like this. Don't believe me if you want, but it's true.

Another great article to look at would be here: Canada makes it as one of the world's happiest nation and they have a nationwide health-care system of their own.

Do remember as well: It was a bunch of conservatives who led the US into so much trouble as well.

Okay I have been trying to get this for a long while now..

Why do so many people think socialism is bad?

I mean really come on.

Canada and the UK are two successful Socialist countries.

Now if the government was lets say fascist yes there would be a big problem.

Anyways I think seeing the news about money and such the past few weeks shows we are getting back on track.

oh and does anyone here remember the great depression??

We survived that didn't we? Well then we will survive this aswell.

Socialism often leads to Communism, and believe it or not the red scare is still in effect, it's in relation to the terror levels xD

Down with America! Your food made us fat, your elected officials messed up the money systems, and your power has a negative effect on other countries!

America is a representative Republic, not a socialist nation. Giving up our freedom for security is a bad tradition to carryout.

The health care system in Canada is a win for the government, a fail for the people, because if you do your research, you will notice that the statistics may be higher in Canada, but you must understand that America has over 300 million people, versus 33 million in Canada. Smaller countries may be able to pull off a socialist nation, but the larger ones will not last, and aside from that argument, America is not a socialist country, and never was intended to be.

Exactly. If we give up freedom there is nothing worth protecting. No one will care anymore, there will be nothing but riots and people leaving.

NZ is having almost the same trouble as America. What's this world coming too? 🙁

I don't think the US is going to have any real issues, but it will not be a world power for long at this pace. 4 years is getting longer every day.

It is likely that we might fail as a whole. I hope we don't and I dont want to see people losing there jobs, homeless people, killing. Its horrible... Some people couldn't help it, I know my favorite teacher got cut 🙁

To be honest, Our economy is rising stocks are starting to go back up. And people starting to get jobs again. I mean we are not at 100% yet and won't be for atleast another 5-10 years but as of right now I think we are on the right track.

I agree .. yes we went through a bit of a hard time as did many other nations and we cant just hop back on the horse and start riding again ... we have to slowly step up and build our way back ... although I wish we could do the former 😛

Yeah a life without Mc Donalds that would be hell

America has been through tougher times than what we are going through now. We'll be just fine. DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE AMERICAN SPIRIT!!
