Is it bad to have the most posts at your own forum?

If they totally overpost, like 5000 out of 7000 for example, then yes. But providing they aren't higher poster by a long way i don't hink it matters.

I also have the most posts on my forum, I think it would be hard not to if you are welcoming new members and starting/replying to topics.

On another site I am on, there are members with way more posts than the admin team put together, but that is mainly due to the games forum, you know the A-Zs and such, and these members are on it every day.

I don't think the Admin having too many posts is bad at all.

As spirit pointed out, Administrators often like to welcome new members and start topics, especially in the early days of opening their forum.

If you take this forum for example, i have more posts than one of the Admins, but nobody thinks anything of it ~razz~

Well, on the FFF I have 25,000 posts where the 2nd highest poster has 12,000 but on the CMF I have 6,500 posts whereas #1 has 26,000.

Well, 5 months really as he didn't join right at the beginning of the forum.

Total Posts: 26,353 (195.76 posts per day)

-bigeyes- Cloverfield that is insane

I don't think its important, but its not a bad thing no

I have 45% of posts on my forum, I think that that is too much.

My co-admin though NEVER goes on and I have to do all work and replies.

It's normal for the admin to habve a significantly amount more than the next highest poster, if you're an active admin with the community.

remember, you're making all the news topics in the beginning and replying to every member who joins ... of course you're gonna have more posts.

I feel as though it is a great thing if you have the most posts/threads on your forum (considering they are good value posts). When I go on a forum, I always check to see how many posts the forum owner/administrators have in relation to the amount of posts of other members especially when it's a newer forum. I will only join a forum if the owner/administrators are active on their own forum. If the administrator(s) aren't active on their own forum it shy's me away from the community because I feel as though they aren't putting in the time and effort that is necessary to run a forum.

Now that being said, I understand sometimes a forum owner has other managerial tasks to do so I also look at the last time they have been online. Quantity does not replace quality.

I think for growing and smaller communities, its normal. For more active forums it's less so the case. For a growing community you are relied upon to incite discussion and therefore it's natural to have the most posts.

I think it is fine. It matters more what kind of content you post as an admin that the counter itself.

*Checks thread pre-built date* Hahaha. This thread makes me feel old.

Since those who run/own a forum will be the most active and will do so from the moment the forum opens, I think it's to be expected that board owners will have the most posts. They're going to be the one who makes the first threads and responds to their first members to help establish their community. As time goes on they might be surpassed in posts by other members, but so long as they don't look to be completely inactive and still interact with their board on a regular basis then I don't think there would be a problem.
