Last night I swear I saw Elvis down the chip shop

If you were on the run and one of the most powerful countries in the world claimed they killed you, but you were alive, wouldn't you take the earliest opportunity to claim they didn't?

But like I said in the OP, what if he isn't on the run?

I find at hard that he would get out of there alive. I'm sure all of his support there would have made it their first priority to kill him when they saw that escape would be impossible.

Noooo I mean he and EVERYBODY that supports him would have done anything in their power to make sure he wasn't captured alive. Operation Neptune Spear's objective was to kill or capture Bin Laden. If capture was possible, they would have done it. However it was unlikely that Osama would have surrendered. Thus, the call had to be made to kill him, because not only would extraction be hard, but capturing him alive would be hard if he resisted (which there is no question that he did). If it looked like he were to be captured, his co-villains would have killed him so that he would be of no use to anybody. The CIA does not have him. The FBI doesn't have him. The Pakistani government doesn't have him. He isn't in hiding. He's rotting at the bottom of the Arabian Sea.

Bin Laden's been squatting the house next door to me for the past few months. He's a nice enough fellow, keeps mostly to himself. My mail has come to his house a couple times and he's been nice enough to deliver it to me so he's a pretty cool guy.

Not really, I could be wrong with the years,but if I am not mistaken they(U.S.A) assumed he was dead back in 92 He wasn't proven to still be alive until 93 in the world trade center bombing.

Honestly if I was to be alive still after all of this, I would keep my butt hidden.

Also as another member has said they(Secret service) could have him held captured and probably beating answers out of him.

They kidnapped a district collector and made government release 9 arrested terrorists. They can't do this if police had killed those 9 people instead of arresting them.

The problem with your argument is if they made it look like he is dead, how are they (al quada) going to know? If they do not know he is alive they won't make threats or do anything to set him free..

As far as anyone knows he is dead.
