Formed in Italy in 2001, Subhuman started out as a cover artist. Covering popular thrash artists such as Metallica. Although they never released a cover album, it wasn't long before they began writing their own thrash music, using ample amounts of Death Metal to spice it up.
Out of this style came their debut self-produced album, "DELIRIO N° 1", featuring 6 tracks of hard-hitting ravaging music.

The demo gave Subhuman the good footing every underground band needs, giving them a decent fan-base, and setting them up for their later album, "Profondo Rozzo". Profondo Rozzo was released in 2009, and got decent reviews from such underground websites such as, "Metal Review", "Metal Storm" and "Global Domination". And although critical at times, all the reviews have rated Subhuman positively, and Subhuman will definitely keep a good fanbase with their style.

Review by "Metal Storm."

Imagine. You're getting sexually abused, in all sorts of unconventional ways. Whilst hanging on a big rusty meat hook through your back. In a Texas Chainsaw Massacre-like basement. By a gang of big naked muscular men. Who're all wearing bloody, freshly chopped-off goat heads. And who all have a huge Sigil of Baphomet tattooed on their hairy chests. The only thing missing is the gang humming ritual chants. Instead, they could just as easily put on this CD. Filth, blasphemy, pornography, butchery and horror. It's all here.

BayBArea Thrash my ass. The info sheet accompanying this album sounded in fact pretty promising. Subhuman - 'an Italian band, inspired by early Bay Area legends - is considered to be "one of the best bands" to rise up from Italy's flourishing Thrash Metal underground movement.' Or so the sheet claims. Fooled again. This debut is a ponderous death metal album with a few thrash influences at best, nowhere near Bay Area Thrash. Then again, we should have suspected something. For one, with our moderate knowledge of the Italian language, we should have figured out "Profondo Rozzo" means "Deeply Rough", even "Deeply Rude". And with our moderate knowledge of the mid-seventies Italian cult film, we all should have remembered "Profondo Rosso" is a horror movie, starring extreme violence in the leading role.

Cruel, cruel love. So deeply rough it is indeed. Just like a M2 machine gun, Subhuman are firing violently energetic songs at the listener in quick succession. The brand of death metal played on the Profondo Rozzo record is raw. Incredibly raw. Even the third degree burn wounds of a freshly un-bandaged victim who narrowly survived a fierce orphanage fire over four weeks ago, cannot be as raw as this music. The kind of brute album that will kick your ass so hard you'll be shitting boots in the upcoming weeks. The kind of album that is aggressive enough, harsh enough and relentless enough to warm the hearts of the most merciless death metal maniacs.

My only bad comment. Too bad the lyrics are entirely in Italian - even our moderate knowledge of the Italian language won't do this time. Apparently they talk about serial killers accidentally going to heaven, amateur pornstars, the betrayal of Judas, dog fights as seen by the dog's point of view and perverts dressing up as Santa Claus. Exactly the kind of bed stories you would want to tell your little cousin.

Final verdict. Profondo Rozzo turned out to be a frantic, even vulgar though at all times well-thought debut album. Whoever said thrashy death metal couldn't be entertaining should have a listen at this release. When you do, get ready to bang your head... hard.

Re: It's All About Music

CD Giveaway competition is underway!!!!!

-- 04 Oct 2010, 11:36 --

It's All About Music is a Musical forum dedicated to the discussion and sharing of artists, bands, and songs. The forum is open to any and every kind of music genre both familiar, and unfamiliar to the casual, and adroit music fan.

We have a Music Exchange area that is growing daily, one of the most organized layouts compared to a music forum of this type. We are also official promoters for Maple Metal Records bands such as Subhuman and Massive Slavery of which provide CDs for contest on our site. Both bands are also members of the site and visit often. We are also affiliates with two very hot Metal Boards: http://www.headbangershaven.com and http://www.louciferspeaks.com if you are into Metal alone then these boards are for you.

We are a monetized board, earning daily revenue so that we may bring more free contests to you. Members never pay for their winnings. Those who pay for our ad space get proper coverage while at the same time the ads are non intrusive to the members. We are an advanced hosted board. The ads you see are from those who pay us to be on our board.

We are not about just getting members, we are about quality members, members who visit, post and offer quality to the board. We are a member driven board and that is what makes some of our Genre sections one of the best out on the net for a board of this type. A board may boast of 2,000 members but if only 1% are active... We would rather have 100 members with 20% active or better. In our case, we are at 25% which exceeds most forum stats. The point here is, please do not join unless you plan to be part of the board. Guests can surf the entire site without issue, they simply cannot post, upload, download etc.

Scroll through this thread to see some of the content we have on the forum, or click the banner below and drop on by.

That is roughly 10 topics and 50 posts per member. It's all about quality not quantity. We may only have about 100 members but over 25% of them are active. I have seen boards with 500 to 2000 members and most have less than 10% active members.

In the last month we have had 25 members join up and more are on the way.

See you on the board.

We hit 100 then broke it, now on our way to 125. We thank our members and this site for a great place to promo our forum.

We are now nearly at 40% active members of the total. That is super for us and we are now DMOZ listed which is a huge honor. DMOZ is very hard to get into and a hint... It's has nothing to do with the number of members you have. It's content, hits/visits etc, and a few other criteria they keep close hold. We are truly humbled to be included in this exclusive listing.

Asia is a rock group formed in 1981. The band was labelled a supergroup and included former members of veteran progressive rock bands Yes, King Crimson, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Uriah Heep, U.K., Roxy Music, Wishbone Ash and The Buggles. cavalera-conspiracy.jpg

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cavalera_conspiracy

Cavalera Conspiracy is a heavy metal supergroup formed by Brazilian brothers Max Cavalera (vocals, guitar) and Igor Cavalera (drums), along with American guitarist Marc Rizzo and French guitarist Joe Duplantier playing bass. The band originally formed in 2007 as Inflikted but changed its name for legal reasons. The group's creation marked the end of a 10-year feud between the Cavalera brothers, who founded Sepultura in the early 1980s. They remained together in that band until December 1996, when Igor, guitarist Andreas Kisser, and bassist Paulo Jr. suggested to Max that the band cancel its contract with his wife and manager Gloria, saying she paid more attention to him than the band. Disagreeing, Max decided to leave Sepultura.
Max then formed a new band, Soulfly, and his brother Igor recorded four studio albums with Sepultura before leaving the band in January 2006. In July 2006, Max received an unexpected call from his brother, and by the end of the conversation, Max had invited Igor to visit him in Phoenix, Arizona, to perform in a Soulfly show. Igor joined Soulfly in concert and performed two Sepultura songs. After the show, Max suggested they begin a new project, and Igor accepted. To complete the band, Max chose Soulfly guitarist Marc Rizzo and the Gojira frontman Joe Duplantier to play bass guitar. The group then recorded their debut album at Undercity Studios in Los Angeles with engineer and co-producer Logan Mader in July 2007. Named after the band's original moniker, Inflikted was released through Roadrunner Records on 25 March 2008.
On Inflikted, the group's musical style combines elements of Sepultura and the Cavaleras' hardcore punk roots, and the straightforward death metal fused with riffs and guitar solos of the thrash metal and groove metal that Sepultura created between Beneath the Remains (1989), Arise (1991) and Chaos A.D. (1993). According to Allmusic, the release of Inflikted "brings to fruition one of the most anticipated yet most improbable reunions in heavy metal history,"[1] while in the words of Joel McIver, "Those thousands praying for the Max-era Sepultura line-up to reform can get off their knees: the key reunion has happened."[2]
The "Infliktour" supporting the debut album began on 30 May 2008, when Cavalera Conspiracy played its first official concert at the Electric Weekend festival in Madrid, Spain. Due to recording commitments with Gojira, Duplantier was unable to join Cavalera Conspiracy on tour. He was replaced by Johny Chow of Fireball Ministry. The group has performed in several festivals in Europe and North America, including Pinkpop, Download, Monsters of Rock and the Ozzfest.
In 2010, the band was confirmed as being part of the soundtrack for Namco Bandai Games' 2010 remake of Splatterhouse. [3]
