"It's our holiday"

I'm always wearing one of my national guard shirts or some sort of "army/military" t-shirt when out in public and no one has complained tis far, though now, things seem to be evolving into a "freedom to wear" vs "freedom of speech" way of living.

And no, I don't drink beer, but I will have a coffee if invited to one of those submits. 😛
We have army recruiters who bring and give us national guard type shirts and hats to wear. Ditto at the rest

At least Arizona, my state, has done the nation a favor of upping its stance on illiegal immagration and how it has affected the minds of students in classrooms.
Your state is one of the very worst states in this country, and the illegal immigration policy it has adopted makes absolutely no sense.
What does this policy say? I would like to test your knowledge.

I don't care what it says. Any policy restricting illegal immigration doesn't make sense in my opinion.

So, we should not be able to enforce the LAW? Do you not agree that there are only so many slots for people to enter this country? That is why we have immigration laws. If this is the case, why on earth should the people who do not respect the sovereignty and laws of the USA be allowed to take up the4se slots, as opposed to law abiding Latinos and people of other races?

The government can enforce illegal immigration laws when there is a legitimate and honest path for hard-working Latinos to gain citizenship.

BTW Obama is awesome in my book. Better than bush.

They're both corrupt :cheer:

I will say this, a wall and UAVs on the borders would greatly reduce the flow of illegals, along with a worker visa program to get the true workers in our country to do the jobs they need to do. This would be a great start and the cost of the visas would pay for the program.

If anything is wrong, the problem with that law is that it gives law enforcement more power. Slowly, we are giving more and more power to our law enforcement agencies. One day we will be in a police state and wonder how we got there. The real problem here is the farmers in AZ that give illegals jobs. If we destroy the underground economy, there will be no reason for them to come over. We also need to let the border patrol do it's job. They know of illegals woking in AZ, but do nothing about it because they know the farmers need their labor. We need to get the BP to do their job, and give them more power to stop this at the border.

It does "all" come down to, "who is voted into political office positions"

If you vote, you can either...

1. Vote individuals in
2. Vote to keep others out
3. Have a beer summit with both candidate to discuss their favorite malt liquor

woo, hoo... CHANGE!! :cheer:

So, until then, we let all the lazy low-life welfare seekers in (Note that there is a mix of them coming over the border. Lazy and hard working ones)?

Sure. Doesn't faze me one bit.

I don't think it's possible to stereotype the immigrants in question, nor is it fair to do so.

What? Are you from America, Snobo?
Yes. I'm unfortunately American, but I am a true liberal (libertarian leftist), and I can tell you that Obama is a conservative-leaning moderate on the universal scale.

This person is right. Stephen Harper of the Conservative Party of Canada has been doing more liberal things to get Canada out of this so-called "economic downturn," which has actually been very successful. I wouldn't be surprised if we get another surplus by 2011.

The problem with these kids was that they were trying to cause a disturbance and trying to piss off these Mexican kids by belittling their holiday. Don't turn this into some bullcrap liberal education unpatriotic lecture, because it's not. You probably forgot to tell us the part of the story where the kids with the American flag t-shirts on walked up to the Mexican kids and called them spicks. All you need is Rush Limbaugh to go on the radio and talk about how the liberal public education system is destroying the country because they hate our flag and then mindless idiots who can't think for themselves go around and start spewing his shit.

@Irviding: this happened in many schools, and I assure you, most of these incidents didn't involve any rude language. Also, I don't think you changed your avatar yesterday. I'm sure Mexicans use this forum.

Oh, and remember a couple years ago when a principle flew a Mexican flag from the flagpole? Yeah... flag code violation much.

P.S. Mexicans actually don't celebrate Cinco de Mayo in their home country.

Actually, Cinco de Mayo is a regional holiday in Mexico, more specifically Pubela.

No one celebrates it so much there, though. There are many holidays we don't care about here in America.

It's an important holiday to the Mexican culture. That's all you need to know.

Yep  What is wrong with celebrating. Lets say it is someone's birthday. No one knows who they are, so does that mean they can't celebrate it just because he is the only one celebrating it? 😛

Okay, that's pretty bull..... How is showing patriotism 'cause a disruption. It's America! If the Mexicans get offended, why come to America in the first place. You know every country show their patriotism.... so don't get offended by their culture/traditions....

Your situation reminds me of a play about Phillip Malloy got suspended for singing the national anthem.

Because you know the kids wouldn't have worn the shirts if it WASN'T Cinco de Mayo.
