It sucks to me that this has happened to Limewire. I used to use it a lot and got some great songs out of it. ^_^
There are millions of places to get free songs. You could just buy them.

I've used sites like Limewire and BearShare before, but at the end of the day, I'd really rather buy my music. I've gotten CDs where I liked the whole of an album before, and even if I didn't like the whole thing, I liked at least half of it. I find it just as easy to buy a CD and rip exactly the songs you want on the computer and putting them on the MP3 Player from there. Sure, for some older music that stores like Walmart no longer sell anymore, you might have to rely on second-hand shops (thrift stores) but at the end of the day, it's worth it.

There's also services like iTunes that have an extremely large array of music you can choose from while supporting your favourite artists. The truth is that many people wouldn't have the money to continually purchase the music they love.

The best thing to do would be to hit up a streaming service, such as an online radio, myspace music, youtube or something like that.

Buy on Amazon or Ebay. They have most albums that are still in print, and some OOP CDs.

Did you just say iTunes and supporting an artist? Oh my...
Do a little reading and you'll realize that artists get almost nothing of the sale of an iTunes song.

Support the artist, go to shows, buy merch.

They have been here for quite some time.

when you "stream" a file, you download it like anything else you access on the web. There is no difference in legality.

I never used Limewire. Never liked music.

But I despise these copyright laws. They restrict my ROMs.

Also, in the Nukian Empire, we will have virtually no copyright laws.

Because it's epic win to get free stuff.

I don't see what the big deal is.

There are more p2p programs out there.

Frostwire and Bearshare come to mind..

Oh well I rather just buy my music off of amazon anyways.

HAHA! That worm-nest is finally dead! Great news for all home computer users!
(I used it once and I ended up with dozillion viruses in my PC)

Gnutella network has been dead for a while now, but if you mean it doesn't work anymore thats a lie. Its decentralized so its impossible to take it down.

I never liked Lime-wire. It was bad for other companies and damaged the economy by illegally providing music to people; I'm not a supporter of piracy and wish people would pay for their music, films and programs. I feel that it is theft and like the idea that it is no longer around.

i dont use limewire iuse bitlord which i find is good for me

Damage the economy? Yeah like I mentioned in some other thread my current "damages" equal to around $100 Billion... totally means I'd spend that much on music.

OK, I agree that the damages are n-where near the correct amount projected but you should know there is some form of damage. No matter how little it is as each track downloaded or even album has caused some form of damage. You may or may not pay for that album but if you really enjoy a aid band or artist would you or would you not pay for that album/track if there was no free version of it to illegally download?

This is a bit of a nothing post, shutting down Limewire is hardly the end of file sharing...
