Make a promotion forum or leave it for a while?

For everyone that thinks "another Promotion Forum, not gonna advertise there, will just advertise at FP", I must say you are very bad Admin's. The smart Admin, will take every oppurtunity they can get. One such reputable admin is theezy, I dont know how many times I have seen his Ad's for Wober, the same Achievement thread posted in every Promotion Forum I have been on. Just think about it, if an Admin of "just another promotion forum" brings a few friends to his forum, a few people unique to the promotion scene, they could very well find your site great, signup and become a very active member.

I try to promote as often as I can too. At big forums like this one as well as small ones. Of course, with real world things taking over lately, as well as staff positions on other forums, I haven't had much time to promote my own site. But I'm one of those kinds of persons who likes trying to promote at most kinds of forums..

Only make a promotion forum if:

• You have lot of time.
• You have money.
• Have at least 1 unique service.
• Have a awesome style.
• Paid hosting.

That is not true at all... 😎

I would die before having to use paid hosting. As it is I am needing to pay memberships for a few sites for my site (To download stuff). Everything else apart from the 'you have money' is well said. 🙂

I think having money can boost yor forum in so many ways. Using a free host is good for small communities, but when you start to get active you will really need to start using paid hosting.

I know I dislike people making promotion forums so fast.

However if you can make yours unique for it man.

I advise you wait until you're sure this is something you wanna try and do.

As said, with all the advert forums etc, you're basically making something that's overstocked as it is.

Promotion forum's will never be "overstocked", quote from me:

I would not recommend using IF or ZB. IF is old and outdated and it is not the most secure thing out there 😉 ZB in my opinion doesn't look appealing and as with all free hosts, both of these are limited. You can't add new features or mods yourself and you can't get access to the forum db to backup and move hosts. You will be stuck with them for ever.

If you get a web host and install a forum software. You can then install what you want, edit what you want and convert to whatever forum software you want when you want. If you host causes you problems, you can move. Forums can be successful using whatever forum software you want.

I personally hate Zetaboards with a passion. I was on there briefly; too many broken links, I had complaints that people's notifications weren't working, PM notifications and things like that. I would not recommend Zetaboards.

I could try a site promotion type thing? That would be unique as it has never been done before. But, how would I do it. lol
