Manual back up

Do you keep manual back up copies of your website other than the automatic back up that are generated by the host company?

I didnt do it because I felt safe with the hosting company 😀

I tennd to do my own backup when I feel like I want to do it. that's like twice a month 🙂 I be happy that way. the host tends to pay for an recover option so I rather do it an free option

😛 About every week~month, I tend to do it. Better safe than sorry.

The constant threat of hackers and host failures are the bane of any admin's existence. I used to do both and it came in handy a few times but I'm glad I don't have to worry about that anymore. Now all I have to worry about is just keeping my laptop backed up onto an external hard drive or two.

Databases are generally the most problematic to fix when exploited, but I tend to just back up everything in the event there's total data loss. It's nice to know that if everything just went poof, you can get it all back up and running pretty quickly.

The downside is backing up everything often takes an order of magnitude more time.

Backing up everything. Though, once your site becomes something big, it may be an issue when backing up as it will require more time.

Always do backups. If there is not 2 backups in two places at two different times, then the data does not exist.
