Mobile friendly websites?

I think it's pretty important since most people are probably going to browse it from their phone. Especially if it is a site you'd want them to revisit several times! 🙂

Must add that Google is highlighting the importance of mobile friendly page. With the advent of the AMP project they started highlighting this kind of pages 🙂

so yeah, it is sooo important

To me, for forums it's not really necessary, I don't use the mobile themes anyway.

For other websites like online shopping, I highly recommend having a mobile friendly website.

It's very important to me personally since I do a lot of browsing from my iPhone. A lot of the members on my forum use their phones and tablets to browse the forum. I use XenForo and all my themes are responsive and look great on any device.

With such a huge amount of people using mobile platforms for browsing, id would be a good idea to have some kind of mobile layout just from a user friendliness point of view.

Most mobile themes for forums are horrible, and I'll still prefer to use the default one on any device. In fact, most forums should look just fine on a decent smartphone.

I used to have mobile themes, but members were agitated that they couldn't switch back. I didn't see a use for those anymore. All I know is that if they're really going to get engaged, they'd find a time to get on using a computer. Smartphones and tablets are not for that kind of stuff, but showing off your precious bits on camera.

How much is it important to have a mobile friendly website? Is there any penalty has issued in Google algorithm for non mobile friendly website?

There is no penalty for non-mobile friendly wesbite but yes it could affect on your business and traffic on your website. Mobile is one of the most used device through which user can visits our website and also we get business or leads. So as per my concern we should keep focus on the presence of our website on mobile devices.

Either you can make a mobile website or you can make your current website responsive so that user can visit on your website with their mobile devices.

The need for mobile, full functioning websites is needed for every website. My business is spent elsewhere for a non mobile website. All my sites I have ever built have been responsive. I accidentally requested desktop for google on my phone, and was angered by it showed desktop display, instead of mobile!

Yes Google has pushed down the rankings for non-mobile friendly websites. However, while making mobile sites, one has to to keep certain things in mind.

According to Google's Latest updates Mobile friendly website can easily get ranked with search engines. After this algorithm ,all websites need to mobile friendly for better results.

It's pretty easy to make your site mobile friendly.

I installed the plugin WPtouch by BraveNewCode. Works like a charm.

and what if the website is not build using wordpress

You can use Bootstrap. That's what I use for my website and it works pretty well

I just implemented a new, more user friendly mobile theme. I had MyBB GoMobile but it just wasn't working out well. We'll see if guests or engagement goes up.

People use mobiles for browsing because they want to save time. If a site takes too long to load, then there is no point of a mobile user visiting that site.
As you say, if website have mobile site will be better for SEO, right ?
By the way, I have a question is mobile site is built by themes different desktop themes or use themes both for mobile and desktop ?
