I'm planning to get it next year during March. It will cost me $4,700.92. 😛

I didn't even know a PC can cost that much.

I was going to say the same thing really 😛

But if he thinks that it is really worth it, we can't go stopping him can we

I configured roughly the same system, even better in some respects, on Newegg (excluding the Vizio kit and wireless card) for a little less than $2,000. I'm guessing the kit and card go for about $200 each, so that adds up to about $2,500 with shipping costs.

Also, why are you planning on buying this so far in the future? By then, you'll be able to get even better stuff for the same price.

master412160, Strikenz, Neither of you have obviously built a gaming rig before.

First, Get more RAM 😛 and wait for (and get) the AMD FX 8 core since it's gonna be out way before next year lol.

Btw what site is that?

Well I searched for gaming computers on google. It went to alienware, and then took me to dell to customize the laptop that I choose on alienware. 😛

8GB of RAM is plenty.

That explains the price.

Also, don't go for a laptop, especially for that kind of moolah.

Why not?
1. Laptops are not meant for gaming. They overheat too easy and are meant for basic tasks.

2. Alienware overprices everything just like Apple.

Dell in general overprices EVERYTHING. 😛 Not just their alienware branch 😉

You can get a decent PC from Newegg, probably better then that for half the price.....probably with more umph too.

Yeah and Alienware is owned by Dell so that's basically a #3. At least with Apple you know that their extremely overpriced crap is at least crap that will last you a long time in most cases.

4. A gaming laptop costs more than an equivalent gaming desktop would.

5. Laptops are [mostly] not upgradable.

Unless you actually need something portable, there's absolutely no reason to get a gaming laptop over desktop. Don't know why anyone would need a gaming PC to be portable, though.

I can't move a huge alienware desktop every time when I go on vacation or other places. Thats why I rather get the laptop than a desktop.

Do you really need 8GB of RAM? What kind of games do you plan on playing on that?

Would still advise getting a desktop, laptops are a pain in the ass which is why I only use mine for the web and as a makeshift seedbox. For vacations an ipod or hell an ipad should do, kairosoft games + Jeff Vogel games if you have an ipad are more than enough imo.

But in any case you'd be better off buying some coke + expensive hookers than a laptop for that much, after you'd be done you could build the same with the money left over if the expensive hookers didn't rob you and if you didn't OD plus you would have something to tell your grandkids.

If you want a good laptop for cheap, Dell is selling a $999 12 GB RAM 1 TB Harddrive, Intel Core i7 laptop ;o

I could understand the need for a laptop if you are a student and need it for college, or have some other ulterior reason to carry it around a lot, but gaming laptops aren't even really meant to be carried around that much because they're heavy and bulky. Sure, you can bring it along if you're going over to a friend's place, or wanna move it into another room of the house, but how often do you really need to move around a gaming PC? You don't see people in coffee shops lugging around big ol' Alienwares and playing Call of Duty, do you?

It's your money, so spend it how you like, but there's really no reason to spend that much money on a rig with those specs, especially a laptop.

RAM is cheap, so if you're going for a high-end system might as well pop up to 8GB.
