Hopefully their reputation won't be damaged by this. Every service has some downtime every now and then. For example, phpBB had tons of downtime a few years back because the server got "slashdotted" (e.g. an unmanageable amount of connections at one time).

When did this happen? Somehow I feel like it must've been before I got into forums. And were all phpBB forums affected, no matter what host you were with?

when I saw this topic title I thought MyBB kicked the bucket like IPBfree, very misleading.


anyways, a little down time won't hurt specially if you post an update on it once things are back up.

Don't automatically resort to DDoS as the reason :lol: Most hosts have updated their servers with 3rd party software to track and block ddos attacks. MyBB just had equipment failure 😛

Yeah! The downtime yesterday was not because of DDOS. Its a simple hardware change.

Nope, only the phpBB.com site was down.

mybb is secure i dont think it was a dos attack so easy lol mybb is a big site
