MyBB SQL Error - 1040 - Too Many Connections

I've had this error about three times today. I've tried Googling for a solution but they're all either too brief or use too much jargon.

Could somebody please explain how I can fix this? Thanks. :great:

There's basically no way to fix this unless you beg your host to increase it, otherwise its gonna happen unless less people come to your forum

I heard there was a way you could increase your max connections... or something? Can that be adjusted by me or is that ability in the hands of the host.

haha, one suggestion if the host has a live chat or ticket center always ask "what is your max mysql connections"

Well, my friend is hosting it at the moment. I planned to move hosts sometime anyway, but didn't think it would have to be so soon.

I also have a friend who can give me unlimited hosting (well, 'close to' unlimited) forever for a one-off payment of $25, in case I wanted to pay for hosting.

Sorry to post totally off topic but i wouldn't trust that place

1. Chris has a VPS and i know for a fact he never used one before (i think)
2. He's the only staff member so only one person dealing w/ support
3. I takes a hell of a long time to load a mysql script (his vB)

I know he's the staff. He helped me set up a test SMF forum back in the day and it didn't take very long at all. However, I haven't tried uploading a mysql script and I suspect that on 'any' host it will take ridiculously long, considering I have to put up with Australian upload speeds. :S

Post above - well i mean when you go to a mysql script (vB) its slow.

plus you may wanna watch out for his VPS Provider...just saying im not releasing any insulting info about them...

yes! i knew it he has a vB at /forum/ and a IPB at /forums/ well the vB is slow and wtf does he have two very big sql forums on at the same time

ok but have you noticed the other admin never posted something server related i doubt he has root access
