Should I use phpBB3, SMF, or stick with MyBB for my Gaming Forum.

I have always enjoyed Phpbb3 for my forums that i created. So i would say Phpbb3. They are easy to customize and use.

Id say mybb, because it is easy to customize. Themeing can also be easy.

Phpbb you have to edit files, upload files and sometimes do theme edits.

While mybb you just upload a couple files and activate in the ACP.

But whatever you do in mybb isnt as good as phpbb.

That all depends on opinion. I would much rather just upload some files, then take the risk of messing something up. Im not saying that phpbb3 isnt a good software. Im just saying that mybb can be easier to handle at some points.

phpBB 3 is great for the mods, function ability and the user friendliness. MyBB is a good piece of software too, it makes good use of AJAX which is amazing and is a damn right great software too.

Keep in mind that the majority of people here are going to say phpBB because this is a phpBB forum. If you go on a forum powered by say, SMF, and ask the exact thing, then the majority of people would say SMF.

I'm aware of that. But if you read the posts under this topic, you can clearly see the amount of people who suggested phpBB overwhelms the other.

Well, I do like phpBB3, but orc_dragon do have a point when it comes to installing mods.

The mods are easy to install though, all your doing is; find, copy and paste, it just takes time which means it takes away time from you and your board, imagine what you could be doing in that time? 😛. Anyways im sure with whichever you pick, you'll have a good experience!
