Hello everyone,

I'm very happy to announce a new service has just opened here at Forum promotion! It's called "Featured Forum", this service is 100% unique to FP and should get your Forum a lot of exposure around here as it is situated to the right of the new sleeker quick reply box. For the small amount of 55 FP cash, you can have an image of your choice and a small description of your forum displayed there for 1 week!

Heres a small image for those that haven't seen it yet:

More information and rules concerning this new service can be found Here, and be certain to make your request Here!

As always your Feedback is very important to us, and we look forward to hearing your opinions on this new service,

Its pretty sweet. Did you copyright it so no one can steal it? or did you guys/gals find it on another forum?

Doesn't the first post say 100% unique 😉

As for copyrighting it, I'm not sure 🙂

It's hardly unique though is it?

I mean, it's just a title, link and description like every text advert on the web.

It's no more unique than any other text advert on any other site.

Personally I find it annoying and verging on the obtrusive.

I realise this is a advertising forum but there needs to be balance between getting adverts seen and usablity for the end user. I think having it next to the quick reply is poor for 2 reasons:

1) From a usability stand point, the reply box is a core feature of the usablity of any forum, the way it stands now it looks pretty confusing at first with content to the right, it looks more as though it doesn't relate to the thread but rather something else. Furthermore it makes the reply box even samller which leads to lots of scrolling when writing longer posts.

2) From an advertising standpoint it is not only below the fold but very below the fold. Not only that but I wonder how much attention it will get it. If I'm writing this as I am now - I'm ignoring the content to the right, when I click submit I will forget about it. Does that make sense? Basically put the only time people will see it is when they are replying to a topic and when they are replying to a topic they aren't paying attention to the surrounding content but rather the textbox where they are writing.

I think the Profile ads were a much better idea.

Or pahps put two forums side by side after the first post in a topic - much more exposure (above the fold, most of the time) and most user friendly

PS: Is it just me or has the quick reply become less functional too? I though smilies used to be here! 😀

Well when you post a lot of people are going to see if for a split second and might get interested. I myself find myself always seeing it when Im posting.

The spot will get a nice amount of exposure and is definitely unique. Profile Ads were clumsy and unhelpful, and moving the ads after the first post in every topic is not going to get very much exposure, despite its positioning. The reason it won't have quite as much exposure as it has now is because people naturally avoid advertisements on websites (professional research has been done on this), and under the first post is where many ads tend to reside on forums.

The spot it's in now is very unique and I have never seen this kind of advertising on a forum -- thus, it gets my attention fairly easily. It's also just pretty nice looking.

Nice service, I'd say.

Exactly! Tecca! Sticky Ads, and other services can be avoided by those who knw what to look for. But these ads are right here, as long as someone is reading topics, and posting *BOOM* they're right there. And being on a randomizer; with so many members and guests viewing FP; your Ad will get seen more this way. 🙂

Great to see the service finally up.

Wonder how long it takes before it's copied, though. ~rolleyes~

I realize we are trying to get as many people in the randomization as possible but i think that it looks wierd being larger than the quick reply box, maybe if there was only 1 there or the quick reply box was bigger it wouldnt looks as wierd

I think MhW fixed it right after i made that post because they look fine now 🙂

I haven't touched a thing, my guess is that it fixed itself right after you cleared your cache, following that problem you just posted in the staff room.

Anyway, really pleased at everyone's feedback so far. A big amount of credit goes to CarMadMike for thinking of the initial idea, which was then developed, designed and coded this morning by the one and only ~cool~

Still welcome to comments, questions and suggestions. ~smile~

Oh, that's right ... I forgot we can FINALLY talk about this, now 😀 Yes, MhW did the whole design and coding, but CarMadMike did approach the admins with the original idea. And we were all onboard immediately.

And it was a great suggestion, and no doubt, probably the best, and most original service I've seen on any promotion forum, to date!

this is awesome. i cant miss it and i've even checked out some of the sites on it already. i'm jealous of your coding ability MHW lol teach me your ways 😛

Your probably right MhW, clearing my cache probably fixed it, and good job Mike on the idea, it is a great idea!

I the think new service is great. The best thing about it is the service is unique. Good job Mike on the idea and good job Murder for coding it.
