New Year's Resolution 2023

I never did any this year as I know I would break it lol.🙄

I normally don't do them but I went to my primary care doctor in December and she said I'm getting to that age where women can't take off the weight, so if I'm going to do it, now is the time. I don't want to have any regrets later in life.

Hum I think your doc is wrong there, I know lots of older women that loose weight and not really even work at it, I know in older men it's hard to take off without going to a gym.

I do know that women will put it on fairly quick.

I don't know any woman over 50 who can lose weight without truly working at it. The metabolism is known for women to slow down as women age and moreso once they hit menopause.

Well something is working out for me finally because I'm down 4 pounds (remember I started counting once the cookie pounds were shed). 6 more to go to reach my goal and I think I can do it this year! I might even continue to lose more after that because we have a convention to go to later in summer.

You can do it!

Great Job! Do you have a plan that you are following?

Great Job! Do you have a plan that you are following?

I'm sticking to 1,200 to 1,400 calories a day for 5 days of the week and for the other two I'm eating normal. Not a true cheat day in that I am not splurging, just eating about 1,700 calories so that my body doesn't go into starvation mode.

I am trying to stick with walking 10,000 steps a day and I am going to slowly expand that to 12,000 on some days and I'm including using resistance bands to build muscle in my arms.

That's good, diets with cheat days tend to fail, IMO, but swapping back to your normal diet for a day or two seems like a sensible option. Keep it up, you're doing so well 🙂

I do not do them myself. I attempted some years past, but always just fail or stop with the resolution.

Bumping this thread 🙂 Who else is doing Resolutions? Any bumps in the road? Need to vent perhaps 😀

I'm still hanging onto 2022's resolution which was to switch to a vegan diet. As I've not knowingly cheated on it I thought I'd skip resolutions this year although I should probably cut back on my alcohol intake. Or maybe next year :wacky:

Maybe make it more doable. Strive to cut back during the week. 🙂

Getting a new job is my #1 priority. I've been unemployed for over half a year.

Well it was join the gym which I have. So now it's stick at the gym 🙂
