There isn't really any excuse for a serious forum owner to steal software.
I wouldn't be able to take a forum running pirated software seriously, and would think the owner was an immature kid who was destined to fail.
But yeah, i know people do it, it doesn't affect me. I just feel sorry for people who think they need the 'best' software for their forum to go anywhere - they clearly haven't thought out their forum, and have no decent content or else they'd know software really doesn't matter at the end of the day.
I completely agree, and those were some of my first thoughts when reading this thread. As has been said phpBB and MyBB are both of a standard not too far below paid software. There is no need to steal anything to make a good forum.Fergal said:Running nulled software is theft. If individuals or businesses put resources into software and then sell it to get a return for it, they deserve to get paid. Software piracy is theft in the same way that putting your hand into the till at your local shop is theft.
There are more important things to deal with then people pirating scripts on the web IMO.shamzblueworld said:I think there shoult be a world wide orgnization where one can report about those who are running nulled scripts so the orgnization can take strict action on it. thats the only solution i can see
Whats with the targeting of Russia? What did they do to you?Gimgak said:People can go ahead and use nulled scripts, just don't be surprised when your login info for every site you've logged into has been sent to some Russian FTP :great:

Jasonp said:Nulled forums are great , well the scripts are it gives you a proper idea of how the forum is adminwise , none of this shitty 24hour demoboards.
I have used a nulled VB for months got reported after 10months of using it a little email from jelisoft saying to remove or pay for the script.
Although there are many great free alternatives SMF MyBB etc
You cant beat the bigboys , ipb,vb
get offshore hosting and host a nulled script even if your reported the hosting wont give a ****.
Either way its nice to support the owners if you have the money.
I agree. If there is only one allowed response to a topic, which is "nulled scripts are bad", then there is nothing to discuss. Whether someone is allowed to make a pro-nulled-script argument without claiming to have used them or promoting their use is important here. If not, I'd think this would be a pretty useless topic to discuss.DarkRaven said:Out of curiosity, Kino, how on earth are we supposed to post in this thread without discussing something illegal?
Also, it kind of kills the possibilities for discussion if someone cannot explain why they are in favour of nulled scripts (if that's what you meant).
