--Edit-- I forgot I could switch to the dark skin and not be overwhelmed with ads that I and a majority of people wont ever click. 😛

Then whats the point of being here? Jeeze. This is a Promotion Forum for people to advertise their forums, the majority of people won't click your promotion topics so why bother and just leave?

Just stop bitching jeeze.
Psst, he's here to advertise 'his' forums, not to see other forums.

Really though, they should track outgoing clicks from the "services" here. Then there will be proof instead of speculation. I bet the majority people's traffic comes from their own signature. Ive yet to see someone reply to a "How did you find us" topic on another forum with something like "I clicked your banner on a promotion forum" or "I seen the name of your forum sitting in a bubble" or "It was stuck next to a quick reply box so I clicked."
I have seen several people say "I clicked a signature on another forum" though.
Cramming as many ads as possible on the index and view topic pages is not going to help anyone and do nothing but annoy the members here.
This can be proven for banner/text ads by getting the service once and watching your referring sites area of Google Analytics. It will say that "forumpromotion.net/index.php" was the referring link when a visitor clicks from the homepage, and viewtopic.php when it is a signature link, featured forum link, or the new service. Unfortunately, I don't know that this method can be used for ads like this, as it conflicts with signature ads. As I don't use any of the advertisement services here, I can't really say how many clicks I get from those in comparison to the signature clicks.

Apologies theezy, I shall request that your sarcasm tags be installed for a huge pop up saying 'I'M BEING SARCASTIC LOLZ!' to appear when hovering over your post. It's about providing a service to Administrators to get as much exposure as possible for their forums, would this include bubble ads in between first and second posts? Maybe. To be honest, I click through more on adverts than signatures. I read threads for the information, not for advertisements found after a user's post. If I'm in the mood to look for a forum, I look at banner ads and all other text adverts located around the forum.

I seriously doesn't see what the fuss is all about, it barely takes up a 1/3 of your screen for the split second of scrolling past it if you don't wish to view them. They are there to offer more opportunity for webmasters to have their link displayed, that is all. When I was monitoring FP's clicks through the overlay in Analytics a while back I noticed that there wasn't that much difference between signature outgoing clicks and text/banner adverts. If anything banners and texts get more due to being throughout the forum and not in posts. A user can't really post on every single page on the site (well they can but you catch my point) but a banner or a text advert can be found wherever the code is.

We have always had ads in topics... Scroll up and you will see many many many ads in people sig 😉

This is not much different and takes up less space and are less irritating then some peoples sigs here. Antarctic, i do apologise but you are going to be my demo in this example. Also i am not that good at graphics so i did make this in Paint 😀

If Antarctic didn't have a sig, the post would have ended near enough where the red line is. His sig takes up more room then the bubble ads and if you just add the bubble ads bit on the left, you basically have something like the bubble ads but bigger, bolder and more obtrusive in my opinion. This is not really different to a typical sig.

Hmm, that is actually a fairly good point you have there. Personally, my only problem is the possibility that this will not give admins enough exposure as possible, though. I think we all need to brainstorm for ideas which may improve the visibility of these links without making it as bad as a normal signature. One thing I think should be done is limiting the amount of links but increasing their average size. There are too many links, currently, for the users of the service to get much out of it. The less links, the more theoretical clicks per link.

Wow! Amazing work! I am gone for one week and services are better than ever, though maybe make Featured Forums 250 FP for one day? That way it is not as backlogged or offline.

Great job Fowler, glad to see some new updates to the services. 🙂
