Who gets farther in life: nice people or ruthless people who are corrupt in nature and will do whatever is needed to succeed whether it's ethical or not?

Nice people. Your attitude really affects your direction in life. If you have a bad attitude it'll be pretty hard to get a job...

Attitude has nothing to do with this. You can be a ruthless person and act like you have a positive attitude.

Oooooh! So, like a person ruthless on the inside and positive on the outside? I think one of my friends loves saying that I am

No.

Attitudes have nothing to do with what I'm getting at. Do you think someone who is truly a nice person will get farther then someone who will do whatever it takes to succeed?

Say you have two people wanting a job at Wal Mart's corporate office. One person is a nice person, sees the good in everyone, and wants to earn the job fair and square. The other person, however, will stop at nothing to get the job and ruin it for the other person.

Who do you think will get farther assuming the man who doesn't give a (insert curse word here to avoid angering anyone with power) isn't a complete dumb(insert curse word of choice to avoid angering anyone in a position of power.)

Ruthless people may get further in life, but it's not really worth it when you have to live your life knowing that you're a jerk.

Well said Snobo. I understand now Matt.

I'd definitely say nicer people. I mean all that ruthlessness is going to come back and bit you right up your square  (didn't want to curse)

In your eyes, being a jerk is a bad thing. In my eyes, being a jerk is so much fun. So, it would be worth it. Even though that's not the point in this topic. Can we keep it to the actual topic? Pwetty please? Do ruthless or nice people get farther in life. <3

Rocky, how do nice people pull ahead when competing with someone who doesn't care to ruin you? Sure, it may come back to bite you in the butt (prolly not) but you still pulled ahead over the nice guy.

I don't think it really matters how far a nice or ruthless person will go in life since it depends on many other factors, so there isn't a definite answer to your question. Plus, what matters in life isn't the destination per se but the journey itself.

What goes around comes around. What is real can't be faked, and what is faked can't last long. 🙂

Just what I think.

Life happens as it happens. Whether or not you're good or bad on the inside is irrelevant. Your actions will define you.

Everyone is entitled to opinions...it depends how you want to voice them that matters.
There are ways and means of getting your point across without being a tithead.
