Passwords

No - my accounts that I value have a range of different secure passwords. If I'm packaging or on an insecure site I'll use another few.

I use different passwords on every forum and would recommend that everyone does the same. I know of one instance where a would be hacker was a also a forum owner and he gathered usernames and passwords from his own forum.

How do you remember them?

I use different 59 character passwords for my e-mail and paypal and for my particularly important forum accounts. Otherwise I stick with a certain password for all things that aren't going to compromise much.

I'm not sure but I think I know what you may be refering to. This wouldn't be that one kid who kept signing up with multiple accounts and caused havoc and mayhem all over the place? BTW, I'm thinking along the lines of HellBoy, JakJak, and whatever other usernames this kid used.

I have different passwords for all forums and I change them about once a month yes I have them written down in a book but there is no chance of anyone seeing it as I live on my own

Ashley, it wasn't any of the names you mention and I'd prefer not to give names, but it does happen.

I use a 6-digit one with 4 letters and 2 numbers. 😉

I have like, four to five different passwords that I use for different things.

Blah I make them up, you learn to remember them pretty quickly. Sometimes just head-smashing on your keyboard brings out some pretty interesting passwords 😛

 Head smashing on your keyboard?? Sounds more or less a good way to injure yourself rather than remember a complicated password!

You would knock all of your other passwords out in the process 😀

Uh, I'd rather write all my stuff down and keep it private. I don't think banging your head on the computer keyboard would make it a whole lot easier. For me, at least, all that would do is give me a big headache. I probably wouldn't remember the password at all after that! So I think the safest and the less harmful method would probably be to write them down someplace and keep them to yourself. That's what I'd do anyway.

I don't find the need to change my password, because my password is pretty complicated. 😉

But if you use the same password for everything and somebody finds out your password on one site, you are done for.

I did as instructed, banged my head in the keyboard. and I got this password.

Whoever came up with that method of coming up with a password is a pure GENIUS.
