When we moved 5 years ago, we rented an apartment until we could find a house to buy. We paid $1,500 a month for a 3 bedroom apartment that allowed a dog. That was more than our mortgage!

My father and I spend about 8-900 dollars on our rent, but that's not the full rent. We get housing assistance that pays the rest. It's probably closer to 1600?
