This MOD isn't validated by phpBB so it has not been checked to run with all other MODS in the database, also future phpBB updates may cause this MOD to break the board.

Plus charging for MODs ( in whatever way) for what is open source software is morally wrong.

In what way is it morally wrong? If the coder has put effort into making this mod, why should he not be allowed to charge just 10 fpc (a very small amount) for people to use it?

Because it's open source, and open source means free, plus it's not validated for use on phpBB or with any version of phpBB
