The new Live Chat system has now been integrated across the rest of the main site.

http://www.plutohosting.org/ will soon follow

http://www.plutohosting.info/ will be remaining with livezilla, but will also have the new chat system available as well.

I tested out the new live chat system a day or two ago, as I was setting up my forum with you guys over the weekend and there were some minor issues, but aside from all that I enjoyed using the live chat, as it's now just like an MSN Messenger kind of thing. I am hosting my forum with you guys, and while I've only had my site opened for two days, people also say that a lot can happen in two days, and I haven't had any problems with you guys yet! This is definetly a host I would recommend to others! And I usually don't comment on forum hosts lol.

Thank you Ashley. I'm actually still getting used to the new live chat.

I hope you enjoy your hosting and don't have any trouble.

Hello everyone,

It has come to my attention that a lot of you have been requesting to speak to me, and then trying to contact me by other means, or not bothering to follow the staff members instructions.

So, this is a reminder that you support is only available as listed in the following thread here: http://support.plutohosting.net/where-t ... -t212.html

This means that support is only available here on the forums, and via support ticket. Support will also be available via the backup board & twitter when necessary.

Limited support may be available via live chat, depending on which staff member is on-line, as it is mainly for sales & general questions, and not for support related issues, etc.

I would also like to remind you, that should you wish to speak to a certain member of staff, and the member of staff you are currently speaking to on live chat cannot help you out, you should send a support ticket, instead of asking them to get them to get the member of staff for you.

Unsolicited support via PM, personal e-mail or via IM on MSN, Skype, etc. , including requests to come on, will simply be ignored!

Thank you for understanding.

I like the looks of this host, but is there any way that you can make a free hosting option?

I.E. limited?

Hello,

We used to offer 100% free hosting, but decided to drop it as of last June, a further explanation is available here: viewtopic.php?p=518655#p518655 when it was previously asked about by eXtreme, but for your convenience I have quoted it below for you:

If you want me hosting on your host you'd be wise to bring back the free plan. 🙂
Hello,

We decided that for now we would withdraw the free plan, as announced on the 31st May here: http://clients.plutohosting.net/announc ... -14th.html

This is because people were signing up and then just abandoning their accounts, which was causing a lot of work clearing it all up, especially when you have to try and keep contacting the owner about their site and don't get a reply back because you would be surprised how much blank accounts can really use, especially when it comes to the user names for your cPanel accounts.

Also the newer server that PH currently is on is more expensive, and because free hosting accounts do not pay the bills it was decided that we would drop new orders of the free plan completely in order to encourage more people to order paid hosting, who happen to get more features than the free plan users anyway.

To help encourage new paid orders, there may be a trial plan set up. However, even if you are unhappy with your paid account, you have the 14 day money back guarantee and you can cancel your account at any time.

I'm presuming you were the person I spoke to on our live chat system earlier, if that is the case then as I said to you earlier in the chat, it might be back in the future with a small set up fee in place instead. However, for now it has been removed from our website and client area and no new orders/re-creations will be made to the free plan.

If you have any other questions, suggestions or feedback, then please feel free to let us know.

Hello everyone,

Myself and Michael have thought long and hard over the support forums recently, and we have come to the conclusion that they aren't really being used, so we have decided to close the support forums.

Everything currently done here on the support forums will be moved to the following places:

The forums will start to close from Friday 22nd October and will be fully closed by Monday 25th October.

We apologise for any inconveniences that this may cause you.

Hello everyone,

In order to help improve the reliability, I am pleased to announce the release of our new abuse system that tracks inodes, CPU, Memory & Processes usage to your cPanel account on our server. The system has now been installed onto the new "realfly"cPanel style and all accounts on the server have been switched to use it.

The new limits have been set as follows, if you exceed these limits, your account will be restricted and is liable to be suspended:

Maximum Inodes Limit: 30,000
Maximum Inodes Limit to allow backups: 15,000
Maximum Processes allowed to run: 20
Maximum CPU Usage: 10%
Maximum Memory Usage: 10%

The above settings may be subject to change at any time, and our Acceptable Use Policy & Knowledgebase will be updated accordingly to reflect these new limits.

If your Inodes limit is rather high, you may wish to look though your account to find out where the high usage is, and review your files in your folders, to see if there are any unused files present that you may have forgotten to delete.

All resellers should now configure your automatic billing systems to set the cPanel theme to be "realfy" rather than the standard x3 theme for when you create new accounts in order to take advantage of the new system. We have already set your pre-defined packages to the new style for you.

The realfly cPanel theme is an exact copy of the current default x3 theme, only it has the new options present for the monitoring of the above limits so you should not lose any features in the style.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the new restrictions, or you spot an error, please feel free to contact us and a member of our team will be more than happy to assist you.

Regards,

The Pluto Hosting Team

Christmas Support Availability

Hello everyone,

Christmas is ever drawing closer, and from today (Mon 20th Dec) Pluto Hosting will be switching to a special Christmas Support Timetable to allow the staff some time off during the Christmas period. The Timetable is as follows:

Monday 20th - Thursday 23rd Dec: Limited Live Help Availability, Normal Support Ticket Response Times Expected.

Friday 24th - Tuesday 28th Dec: No Live Help, Limited Support Ticket Response Times.

Wednesday 29th & Thursday 30th Dec: Limited Live Help Availability, Normal Support Ticket Response Times Expected.

Friday 31st Dec 2010 - Monday 3rd Jan 2011: No Live Help, Limited Support Ticket Response Times.

From Tuesday 4th Jan 2011, Normal Live Help & Ticket Responses will resume as normal.

Q&A:

What is Limited Live Help Availability?
Limited Live Help Availability is when our live help system is offline for longer than normal, and staff may not be available to take any instant chat requests, so tickets are used instead for any questions or issues.

What is Limited Support Ticket Response Times?
Limited Support Ticket Response Times is when responses to any tickets may be left unanswered for longer than the time specified in the Service Level Agreement. Because the limited support is scheduled, you would be unable to claim for any SLA credit.

Will Managers+ & Server Technicians Still Be Available?
Yes, encase of emergency all of the Managers and above, including Server Technicians will be on call encase any serious problems arise during the Christmas period but may not be immediately available to resolve the problem.

In the case of a severe downtime period, SLA credit will be issued to all paid clients with a suitable amount to compensate for the amount of downtime that is experienced.

From the Whole Team at Pluto Hosting, Have a very Merry Christmas.

Regards,

-The Pluto Hosting Team
