Website Name: Postloop

Website link: http://www.postloop.com

Description:
This is a new website offering free, automated post exchanges. Automated? Yes, instead of a traditional post exchange that you set up 1 on 1, Postloop is a giant network of forum owners exchanging posts, and Postloop automatically tracks and counts each post that is exchanged.

You earn points for making posts at any Postloop forum, and as you earn points, you will move up the Postloop ladder, and other Postloop users will join your forums to earn their own points. This all happens without you doing anything. What makes this so great is that you do not have to bother yourself with coordinating post exchanges yourself, and Postloop exchanges are not temporary - they will last for as long as you participate.

If your forums could use some new posts, check out Postloop. You'll love it!

Looks a really good concept there. 🙂
Good luck with the forum.

just tried to sighnup but it says i havnt got the postloop file when i do.

Try again. I tweaked our check on our end. Your server has some configuration set that was getting in the way of us validating that file.

Oh, and thank you for joining! 🙂

Thanks!

I'm going to use this when I open my new forum.

:great:

*****************

The next 3 people who join Postloop and submit their own forum will get 5 free points at Postloop

Send me a PM here after you do it, and I'll give you your points if you were 1 of those first 3.

Great start-up idea. How do you know if people made posts on the forums though? Is there a person manually checking their forum profiles?

I have joined and started 🙂 Already -20 points

You have to add a file to your forum that counts the number of posts made by someone who subscribed to your forum on the site. At least, that's what i think it does 😛

On the site it states how they use a php tracker to monitor the username and post of a user and link them to gain points.
I believe it is a good idea but there is mass subject to flaw. Due to you monitoring the "post count" a user could use a proxy; register a board under a different name; state he'll post on it and make his account's post count "9999" and he'll gain the credits for it.

Correct. From our Frequently Asked Questions:

How do you guys keep track of so many posts at all of these forums?

BLACK MAGIC! No, not really...Before a forum can be submitted to Postloop, the owner must upload a special Postloop file (postloop.php) to their forums. Postloop has a monitoring service running on its own servers that will periodically check all participating forums for that file. That file will report any new posts that have been made by Postloop users. All of the heavy duty tracking and calculations are done on our servers.

Yep, with convenience comes risk. We have placed a lot of roadblocks in place to prevent "cheating" the system, but there may still be ways around it. Having said that, we have complete control over post counts, balances, etc., and if/when we find somebody cheating the system, we also have a "ban" button 😉

I ran a very similar program years back (PostFusion), and with similar security in place, we had very, very few cases of people cheating the system. That system had nearly 100,000 posts exchanged with very few "bad apples".

Ah I am glad to see you have taken into said consideration and such. But am I not correct in stating that a user that has created two accounts can simple state that he has posted in a VIP/hidden forum; this will then empt the user from being banned or his credits removed.

May I also ask did you create this script yourself or was it purchased?

Anything is possible, but common sense also comes into play. It wouldn't take us long to sniff something like that out.

I wrote it myself.

That is very true. I hope you a great success from this.

Ah I see; how long did it take you? It really is an amazing piece of work. 🙂

Don't know how long it took. I didn't keep track - just worked a few hours here and there, usually daily. It was probably ~1-2 months.
