I use User Activation, and if they don't activate in about a week then they get deleted. A week is long enough I think.

I've done administration activation before, but that's too much hassle on my part, because you contstantly have to go in the ACP to see who's all registered an account and then you have to either activate them or deny them entrance. Email activation is easier because all users have to do is click on a link to activate an account and then they're in.
