I like Setanta actually, got alot of rights this season. I cancelled at the end of last season as it was no point keeping it for me, as no football. I recieved a call 2 weeks before the season asking if i would go back for £6.99 a month with no connection fee, can't argue with that.

Anyway back to topic

I thought Villa were good value last Sunday - once again using the fast flowing counter attacks at every chance we have to break - i have waited a long time to see us play attractive football since the days of John Gregory - Ashley Young and Gabby Agbonlahor were superb - Young was having an easy afternoon down the wings with no threat from City - Aggy had a bit of competition from Micha Richards in the first half but he got nowhere near him in the second beating him everytime he broke away - his hattrick was second to none - he is a quality finisher under pressure - only 7 minutes to score it as well - only gripe was the defence that led to City's second goal - i thought they could of done better than that but when Cuellar comes in i'm sure that won't be a problem - so a 4-2 win - a fullhouse - a 7 minute hattrick and 2nd in the league is looks great to view - it's still very early days but i'm full of confidence for this season - the players are all commited apart from one who dosn't have a clue what is happening deep down - the morale is sky high - and were playing good attacking football that leads to so many goals

Bring on Stoke this Saturday - we want 8 🙂

At least they got rid of that Rebecca woman.

We had a great season last term i agree, i think we over acheived a little especially when you take into account we had the smallest squad in the league. Taking 4 points of Chelsea was a step in the right direction, although we always do well against them plastic blues. The key last season was the system we played, it's very attacking with a mix of youth and experience, defenders just couldn't keep up with the speed of the breaks we produced, no wonder we scored tons of goals. Conceeded a few in return though due to a makeshift defence, i'm glad we got that sorted this season. With the new signings in the team i think we can better ourselfs this season, it was just a shame clubs like Spurs and Pompey had to win the domestic cups as then as a result of our 6th place finish, we would of automatically entered the UEFA Cup, instead of having to go through Intertoto and now qualifying rounds.

We have signed so far this summer

Brad Guzan (GK)
Brad Friedel (GK)
Nicky Shorey (LB)
Luke Young (RB)
Carlos Cuellar (CB/RB)
Steve Sidwell (CM)

And on the cheap as well

Young and Shorey are alright signings and should help Villa as I can remember they didn't really have a proven right back last season and I see Bouma is out so Shorey will do well there. I think that Guzan and Cuellar are unproven in the premiership and Steve Sidwell is an alright player but nothing special. They have a far bigger and better squad than last season. I think Ashley Young will shine this season.

I just hope Everton hurry up and make some signings.

Do you even know why? I guess not, it because when he was at Chelsea he got so much criticism and he is scared that if he comes back to England he will get it all over again.

I didn't read the full BBC article. I've never even seen him play to be honest.

Everton are having a torrid time this summer signing players, missing out on this lad who obviously wants to keep playing Champions League football, it's always a big ask to get them to drop a gear into the UEFA Cup, some times it works but Everton are not in the position to offer decent wages at the moment, so that has prolly answered your question buddy.

If you mean Juao Moutinho he really wants to play for Everton but Sporting want something like £20 million for him. Everton offer very good wages just not what the 'sky' 4 offer their players and that is what we are trying to break.

pffft, Liverpool aren't a secure top 4 club.

Also I have to mention

Everton 0-3 Portsmouth
-D-

Best thing is, ''Chavanage'' as you call them got there first win of the season 🙂
