2. Uhmm if you mean ubuntu you must not know what speed is. Compare ubuntu to windows 7 and you will se big differences. Fast linux distros are ones like slackware, gentoo, sabayon, tiny core linux,etc...
3. So is windows lol... I never understood why people think otherwise..
4. Hahahahhah ha ha ... ha Maybe by default, but windows has way more support. Its not due to windows itself, but thanks to microsoft and their deals with people. Really though when sound breaks every upgrade and such I really don't think it matters.. They need to be stable first.. Also make a stable api and abi. Oh and xorg needs to bring in true backwards compatibility..
5. IF by boned you mean messed up. Every os will do this somehow someway... Linux for example likes to have seg faults or kernal panics.. Windows has BSODS Mac has kernal panics aswell.
Im not going to debate with you, but I will respond to some of the dumb remarks you have make and always make.
2) You always assume every uses ubuntu, but actually. My favorite 2 Distros would include Fedora and Linux Mint..Recently I have been using Linux Mint.
3) Windows 7 is only completely customizable if you want to install a crap load of plugins and replace the default Explorer with a themed one and this would also include the shell..While linux, mostly requires you to edit pre installed things like gtk, compiz, etc. ( With the exception of Conky ).
4) As windows has connections. Linux is more widely supported now as well...if you visit any
common driver download sites, there is most likely a linux version.
5) They charge for support now, at least in us, and see the P.S.
