Relationships: Age Difference

I'm gonna bring this topic back, a couple of people in my year at school (10) went out with year 7's and it is considered disgusting, i guess it's a case of the older the more ok it is

Mind you thats society for you, people think that what you just said about the year 10 and year 7 is weird, but when their older there is only 3 years between them and people get together then. Some people have 10 years apart but people are just like meh.

I know, but in the circumstances in this topic, both have been relationships between two adults, a year 10 is a lot more developed then a year 7.

When I was 23 I started dating a 17 year old. Over a year and a half later, we're still together. -D-

I know it's not a huge age difference but I just wanted to put in my $0.02

I do have a problem when I see (for example) younger girls with much older men. Often time you can clearly tell they are with them for financial reasons. I'm not saying that is always the case though.

I think your relationship is OK. The older you get the more age difference you can get away with.

I agree with a lot that's been said here.
I couldn't imagine being 13 and going out
with someone of 18, even though it's only
5 yrs difference. But once your older you
can widen that age gap quite a bit without
anyone raising their eyebrows at you.

Mind you, I'd have to draw the line at being
with someone old enough to be my father,
or young enough to be my son, it just wouldn't
feel right for me.

Current Age / 2 + 7 =OK

So there's not actually a magic formula, but I like that one anyway.

I find girls tend to be more on the mature side and I believe I read somewhere once (though it will vary from person to person) that a woman's maturity "age" is effectively 2 years "older" than a man's.

As for myself, my girlfriend is 14 months younger than I am and we are perfectly happy. That's really mostly what matters. (Though I do find it hard to believe some of these young women being happy with super old men, though I bet the men are happy. ~smile~ )

5 years max Id say though my friends dad is like 80 and his mom is like 40 O_O

i think if its legal then what is the problem? when i was 16 i was seeing a 31 year old. didnt last long tho :/
