Reputation Changes

I'm not sure I agree on the change to be honest, purely because it's beneficial to scammers... I don't know if this is already the case but I'd let staff be able to give -rep if someone's a scammer.
 
I'm not sure if I agree to this. I personally don't like being -repped, but at times, some people do deserve a -rep.

Anyway, hopefully it will be a good move.
 
@Fowler (@original post) I agree completely. If someone doesn't like you then don't leave rep. For the people that do they can add +rep only. There is no need for negative rep in my opinion. This way users can work on building rep here at FP.
 
A bit late to comment but I'm glad you've done this. Neg rep caused way too many problems than it solved.

I have been away from this site for at least a year. I'm am reading a lot of old posts too catch myself up. I have been here for 3+ years.
 
The important thing is to remember is that if someone breaks a rule, you should report it. If it isn't against the rules, the it isn't - Rep worthy anyway.
 
Nice update however it would be nice if all passed - reputations were removed 🙂
 
To be honest, if you got -rep, it was either given to you fairly or you didn't report it and therefore it is your fault you still have it is you deemed it as fair.

Only because it was removed, doesn't mean that all previous - rep should be removed. The biggest problem we had was users complaining and legitimate - rep and not people giving -rep unfairly. Some people never understood that not all - rep is abuse.
 
And I understand that, however I sent you a PM specifically a while back with a report on one of my negative reputations that didn't get dealt with.
 
That was probably down to it being given to you for a valid reason. If you want to, pm it to me again although if it was given for a valid reason then it will stay.
 
Alright, thanks. I'm not going to worry about it because mostly I'm too lazy to write the couple paragraphs I had written all over again.
 
I was wondering why there was no - rep, I can see why it was removed and I hardly ever gave out - rep.

Its better to give positive rep out than negative also makes the person good too 🙂
 
good update but i think the community team should be able to give -rep so members know they have done something wrong in the past

That would be pretty hard to code if you think about it.
