Semester 1 grades in!

Your class names make no sense from where I live :s GPA makes sense, but then again, the corresponding number to level could be different.

Wait, is this school or uni?

this is still school. And yeah I abbreviated some of the names, my courses were AP World History, Honors English 2, Honors Chemistry, Spanish 4, Honors Algebra 2, & 2 electives.

My GPA was 3.75 out of a possible 4.0
It's highly unlikely anyone gets over 4.0 from what our principal says 😛

Hm, interesting. When I was in school, there wasn't any fancy names like 'honours' or AP - the subject names were a bit simpler, eg. Modern history or Mathematics...learn something new each day 🙂

Yeah it's just the American system since you choose each class you would like to take and what level you would like to take it on. So there are standard level classes but then there are honors classes which are on a bit of a higher level, and then there are also AP classes which are done on or near a college level and prepare you for an exam in the spring that may give you college credit.

There are other things like IB which is around the world but not all schools have that.

I got a GPA of I don't give a sh*t last semester because my biology professor's curve is the stupidest thing ever. Add in that it's a 5 credit class, and that completely screwed my GPA.

Some AP course also transfer into college entry courses. AP is higher than the basic courses. Good job and keep those grades up. Get into a good University, open doors and that GPA will pay off in the long run.

The real key is the applied use of what you learn not just simply memorization.

Yeah my grades aren't as important as what I know as I plan on going to ETH Zurich, hopefully I can do well and get my IB diploma and that way I won't have to take as many entrance exams.

At least you didn't get my GPA of "get me the arsenic."

This semester's going to be worse. I'll be putting even more effort in to classes (since they're even harder), a fraternity, a possible job, and women/a woman. "Get me the arsenic" might be my grade this semester.
