So, a kid runing the rep of your forum isn't the same as someone in their 20's, 30's, etc ruiningthe rep of your forum? Like I said, this type of thing should be dealt with in a case by case manner.
An 11, 12 or 13 year old isn't necessarily interested in the whole Disney stuff, and the vast majority of times will not be. Age really defines nothing in terms of maturity or knowledge, it can be used as a rough guide as to these things but it's all down to the specific person.Luigi1632 said:And another thing, I don't want talk or discussion about crap like the Jonas Brothers and stuff like that or anything "new" crap like that.
My forum is for gaming and the discussion of popular culture, which means stuff from the 20th century, not crap like "Hannah Montana" and such.
In fact, if the child is from the US the law applies.dentist said:If the forum or website is hosted in the U.S., obviously you will have to abide by the minimum of age 13 to join a forum. But of course you can always lie about your age to bypass it.
All I knew was that if the website was hosted on a server that is in the U.S., then the age 13 minimum came into play.Jonathan said:In fact, if the child is from the US the law applies.dentist said:If the forum or website is hosted in the U.S., obviously you will have to abide by the minimum of age 13 to join a forum. Adults don't want their children exposed to stuff they wouldn't wan them to see.Ruko said:Why does age limit matter? 😕
Sorry, but lmao. Kids tend to have bigger imaginations, hence giving your forum more interesting topics not the same old "What's your favorite color" topics. Your point regarding Hannah Montana is incorrect. If as you said your forum is on Gaming, then why would (assuming) a little girl join your forum to chat about Hannah Montana?Well why would a post by a some kid, assist my forum getting off the ground?

Well its useless. I used to have age limits but since people lie about their age, I just disable them. Don't care if the post's aren't suitable for kids. (except extreme and mature content, which would NEVER be added to my forums)dentist said:Adults don't want their children exposed to stuff they wouldn't wan them to see.Ruko said:Why does age limit matter? 😕

Most forums are open forums anyway so you can view content without registering. So really under 13yr olds can more often than not read contents of forums anyway.dentist said:Adults don't want their children exposed to stuff they wouldn't wan them to see.Ruko said:Why does age limit matter? 😕
