No. It's a simple technique to stop spammers. It also prevents people from claiming to be someone else. Never remove that. 😛tetutato said:i currently require every registers to be email verified but I was wondering if I should remove that?
What's that plugin called? 😀xarver said:While it is said often it prevents spam, which may be true, but most modern bots nowadays get around email activation. There is a plugin for mybb (and maybe other software) which executes a javascript function, and if it doesn't give a response then the user/bot is denied access to registration. This prevents most spam as virtually no bots have javascript execution.

EDIT: though I think it's more useful to test if that really is a functional email you can annoy members with. haha

Also guys, then how come FP recommends that you remove email verification when requesting for posting package? :/
Yes, this is to help packagers complete requests. 🙂 It's only recommended that you do this from the time the package is requested, and it is completed.tetutato said:Also guys, then how come FP recommends that you remove email verification when requesting for posting package? :/
