I'm now 40 and STILL smoking, I'm desperate to quit but I just don't...it gets you by the short and curlies
I go for a few weeks then cave in...I'm scared to gain more weight.
One thing I have noticed is that it is now cool if you don't smoke in high school, the kids are smarter ..... :cheer:
I wouldn't say that it's considered "cool" not to smoke. It's not necessarily considered cool to smoke, though. It's considered cool to go to parties and binge drink, though. There will always be some stupid kids and some smart kids just like there are stupid adults and smart adults. Nothing will change that. All we can do is do our very best to educate everyone about the risks.MissTake said:One thing I have noticed is that it is now cool if you don't smoke in high school, the kids are smarter ..... :cheer:

Of course drinking and pot is still considered cool, but the smoking thing is really not. In my school people that smoke are considered outcasts and considered disgusting, though people who pack a lip 24/7 aren't at that level of those who do cigs yet lolSnobothehobo said:I wouldn't say that it's considered "cool" not to smoke. That's because there is none. The scientific evidence of a link between weed and mental health issues is really only established for users who begin at a young age and smoke chronically (meaning 3 or so joints per day, 5 days a week). Normal smokers who do it once a week or whatever aren't going to get mental health issues. It's that simple. You can find the article on ABC news website. It's simply not dangerous unless you go crazy with it, just like anything else.Jay™ said:Tha't what I don't understand. More people are concerned with the problems "caused" by smoking, and yet all of the reports showing scientific evidence of a link between weed and mental health problems are completely ignored.
The public have selective hearing, which is fed by the media. They only read what they want to know.

And there is still evidence to suggest that people smoking weed more than once a week have considerably less memory recollection, paranoia and twitching.
