I've found using Discord to be a quick and easy way to organise live chats. I've found Skype to be quite bloated lately and doesn't seem to show offline messages reliably anymore.

Normally me and my staff discuss stuff on the staff forum unless it is an emergency in which we will discuss on Skype. We would try to find a convenient time and then discuss the issues but this rarely happens.
