I would suggest using SMF 2.0. When I used VB, IT SUCKED. I wouldn't say PHPbb cause it's a pain in the butt to install mods. SMF 2.0 Has a lot of good ad mods. It also has A LOT of features built in.
Go with vBulletin or some other software, i am sick of seeing promotion forums and most new forums now days on phpBB, the themes are horrible, they all look the same, and it would be nice to see something different and new from the same old promotion forums we have now days.
What do you look for in a promotion forum? A community where I can just chillax, I dont own a forum but I do like chatting with people who do. What does a promotion forum need? Staff willing to do the job, that are friendly, and oevrall a great community, being unique is nothing to me without staff to back that up. phpBB (with custom theme) or vB?
