how do you promote your site in twitter? I mean, I'm a member, but...how do you actually promote your forum through it? Anyone know? 🙂 Any help appreciated!
 
Get a lot of followers, do a lot of tweets, always include your link.
 
Drop links and watch the robots surge to your site! >=D

But seriously though, I've been planning on writing up a thorough Twitter promotion article. I currently have over 1,000 followers on my main account and can get well over 30 views from just one link.

Acorn, that's a perfectly good question. Its a hard thing, most of the time when you follow someone, and tell them you are following them, they will follow back. You may get rejected, but thats the learning process. Try to do some follow exchanges and advertise your Twitter on your forum. I'm sure a forum with 5500 members, at least 500 have Twitter. Get them to follow, and tell them you may also follow back.
 
hey dave i've got few questions. What is the advantage of following someone apart from hoping that they will follow you back?
And what is the advantage of getting so many followers?
I really know nothing about twitter so please explain a little thanx 🙂
 
If you want to update people about your forum, maybe during a downtime, Twitter will post live updates. People who follow you will see it and people who don't will have to search for you and then they can see it. More followers just means your link and information is visible to more people.
 
well so it means that when i update something on my twitter page everyone who follows me will see that on his/her twitter page? is that so?
 
Yes, that is correct. When I post a message, every one of my followers will see it.
 
If its your own preferred method, then by all means its ok to use it. Personally, I like going to Twitter and posting relevant updates.
 
hmm well i find this one easy you just have to click there and done with one more click on the twitter page,

btw is it possible to add something like auto tweet in forumotion? I have seen this on another forum

shamzblueworld, you can, indirectly. On ForuMotion forums, you may use a site call TwitterFeed, where is uses the site's RSS Feed to post excerpts of things like new topics.
 
i have just signed up there, can you please tell what source to put there in the RSS Feed url? and Feed name?
