VBulletin, how much does it cost ?

Ipd, cannot match the look of VB

This is a older site(vb 3.8.x) however, just imagine what you can do with a more powerful software in vb4

http://www.aboxcafe.com
www.aboxcafe.com's outstanding design has everything to do with talented designers and developers and very little to do with the capabilities of the software itself.

In general, I find IPB's themes more aesthetically pleasing than vB's. Different strokes for different folks.

Funny how people are already talking about vB5, when vB4 just came out only months ago.

For a year after your purchase of vBulletin, you will not have to pay for updates to vB4 (4.01. 4.02, 4.1. 4.15. 4.9), et cetera. Once that year is up, you will have the option to renew your license for something like 25 dollars, and this renewal will allow you to update your vB4 forum for free again.
Where did you get this information?
My vb4 license never expires.

No. For vBulletin 4 users, the license won't expire, but to get vBulletin 5 updates, you pay full price, whatever it is.

Oops! I wasn't aware vB had changed its policy since the pricing for vB3.

I only have one license which entitles me to use v4 and under.

I prefer IPB's pricing structure. It's much more flexible. I only pay $25 for six months if I badly need an upgrade. Small security upgrades and bug fixes I can ignore if they don't affect me. Major and minor upgrades, I can buy if I so please.

Admittedly, this could turn out more expensive than the vB system - or indeed it could turn out to be cheaper. The flexibility allows me to budget much easier though.

After the price adjustment, it's actually cheaper. vBulletin used to have a similar pay-for-updates and support ($30/year), but their new one changed that.

What I found interesting is that "vBulletin Solutions" is now running vBulletin. From what I was told though, the entire Jelsoft UK staff left after Kier Darby did.
