Hacking is illegal, is it not?Earth Be Lost™ said:Kino said:I removed the link, as it's against forum rules to post anything about hacking, or in this case, finding a flaw.
Please Kino... outline where in the rules it states hacking is not allowed... please find it as I'm having problems locating it... If you can't find it either I'd greatly like you re incorperate the link and stop stating it's against the rules.
Thanks. 😀
Please use common sense when posting. The FP staff have the ability and the permission to edit/delete/lock any thread/post that we feel is not suitable and/or illegal.
Do you have proof that everyone who looks at that link will just use it on their own forum?DarkRaven said:Hacking in or of itself is not a criminal offense, THT. What if you wanted to test the exploitation on your own board? Just like graffiti is not illegal if you paint it on your own wall.

Can you site your source for the 100% legal? I'd like to know where you got that from :great:Earth Be Lost™ said:The Hat Tipper said:Hacking is illegal, is it not?

No it's not... hacking is 100% legal... hacking is development and needed to survive in this world... we built this world you live in and you think were illegal... the only offence of hacking into another persons computer is breaking and entering, theft, invasion of privacy and copyright...
Ouch. The Register has published how to expose the vBulletin 3.8.6 flaw so now it's everywhere. How exactly was that in the public interest?

The Hat Tipper said:Ok, well what about the fact that staff can remove edit or lock posts they feel are unsuitable?
Well staff can view it as unsuitable so technically it was against the rules.. sorta, just got the rule that it was wrong 😛Earth Be Lost™ said:The Hat Tipper said:Ok, well what about the fact that staff can remove edit or lock posts they feel are unsuitable?
I spoke with kino about it... he did it 'cause he thought it was rules... he didn't want to.

He didn't see it as unsuitable... he saw it as his job and had to do it, different things. 😉
