vBulletin vs. XenForo

It does have a VB feel to it. But at $140 I don't see it. I quite frankly I think VB is over priced!
 
From a PR standing point, this was a bad move for vBulletin. I'm surprised though that they have allowed their members to discuss this on their site (vBulletin.com). But not surprised that they have kept it private within the members area... so unless you are a paying customer, like myself... You are not aware of all the disappointed & upset users there are. Trust me... there are indeed a lot of members there who think this was a bad thing & a large group of them have bought XF, just to defy vB. though it is worth noting that IB/vB has hinted / threaten to also actively sue anyone in the future using XF or who have purchased XF... Should they win.
 
They look totally different in my mind. Now that the vB Company has been sold, the door is wide open for XF, and I will fully support it. It's a great piece of software.

Tbh, I've used vbulletin more and it seems easier more times you've used it and I have never used xenforo, So ill have to go with vbulletin since I dont know what the admincp looks like.

Also got any comparisons between IPB, Xenforo and Vbulttin here

For me, I would choose Xenforo for more security, IPB for a standard forum and vBulletin for easy to cusomize, of course for vB3 and vB4.

Just my 0.2 cents!
 
I think Xenforo is much better than vBulletin. It's much faster than vBulletin, and the ACP is very easy to navigate. Plus I think there are some better themes for Xenforo, and honestly vBulletin is a tad bit overpriced... Though they do have a cloud option, which is something that Xenforo doesn't have.
 
Vbulletin is totally overpriced and they aren't that great anymore. So many more platforms are catching up to Vbulletin and getting even better as well. I would choose Xenforo over Vbulletin.
 
Xenforo for sure! vB isn't doing as good as it used to, which is a shame. Xenforo is more affordable, has plenty of neat features, great themes and mods, and most forums these days are running on it (from my experience). It's pretty much taking over, and vB doesn't stand a chance competing with Xenforo. xD

Yes, I agree. vBulletin definitely needs to reduce their price and make a lot of changes to their software if they want to stay in the market.
 
I've seen and heard too many bad stories relating VB to spam, but maybe they've cleared up that problem lately. In that case, I'd go with XenForo. Also, XenForo has some fun bonus stuff like a point system.
