If I were American and were faced with that awful choice, I would vote for Donald Trump... (I simply have an intense dislike of career politicians). I believe that Hillary Clinton, based on polling data, would win that contest though. I also believe that Clinton is the likely winner of the 2016 contest.

I think I would disagree with a number of people who have replied here (as an outsider though)... I think some tough decisions do need to be made.

  • Cut defense spending. The US can exert soft power economically. Look at the effect on Iran (with economic sanctions), they've been forced to abandon their nuclear program.
  • Reform the healthcare system. Your healthcare costs 3x more than ours (New Zealand). Why is that? A public healthcare system has a lot of power. It will never be perfect or even great healthcare. But- if you do need to use private healthcare you can easily access it. And the doctors tend to be the same.... Another major reason is that we have a drug funding agency which reduces the cost of a lot of medication, Pharmac. Pharmac can negotiate big savings with drug companies on generic drugs. "Since 2000, PHARMAC has saved more than $5 billion against 1999 prices." In a country the size of New Zealand, that is significant.
  • Gun laws. Sorry but seriously... this debate is ridiculous. I feel very safe in New Zealand, without owning a gun. More guns = more gun deaths... http://www.slate.com/articles/health_an ... _safe.html.
  • Lower Corporate tax. It's no wonder many American companies attempt to shirk their tax responsibilities when the tax rate is so high... http://www.forbes.com/sites/taxanalysts ... dc5b4620a5

Again- a full outsider. Offering an outsiders opinion. 😉

I appreciate your opinion, but to correct the part about Iran to abandon their nuclear program it was never abandoned. It still exists, but it is monitored by both US and UN officials last time I checked. I still though don't trust Iran regardless. Plus I also know the fact that the US agreed to protect Iran from Israel if Israel made any attempt to defend itself from Iran. Sad days we live in when we pretty much backstab our closes allies.

As for more guns = more deaths. There are many statistics that prove between a few countries that require gun ownership than those who take away guns. That the country with required gun ownership for citizens has lower crime rates than a country that has gun laws for citizens to own them. I personally find it sad when people don't want to own a gun because it is like saying I don't want to protect my friends, family or fellow citizens from those who want to do wrong.

Bad people break laws and laws don't protect us from bad people that have been proven and will continue to do so in the near future. It is ignorant to say that there aren't going to be people that will use guns to kill people in a country that have gun law restrictions. How will I a law abiding citizen protect myself from someone who has a gun if mine is taken away from the government? Should I hope police will arrive in time if they are hours away or should I have the capability to defend myself? I think the answer is pretty obvious in this case.

A lot (not all) of this is because of the vast amount of money the US spends on healthcare R&D. Clinical trials, approval by the FDA, and the thousands of intermediate steps cost money.

Move here, move into a affordable apartment and tell me how safe you feel 😛

It's hard to compare gun laws in the USA with other countries. It's not the same, we are a whole different world. A whole different breed. If you ban guns, the criminals will still get guns, they won't slow down. The only thing you would do is disarm yourself and let them waltz right into your home. I've been robbed at gunpoint, in my own home... I would know.

As for the original question? I wouldn't vote for either. I would fill in my own vote which would probably be 'President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho' ;]
