I use to host with the downtime made me move back to forumotion for 4 more months then i went paid on Mybb luckily i was off them before they shutdown

I was just wondering, which site host you plan on using? If you don't have one yet, I would recommend Empire Hostings. They got great, cheap service with very few to no down times. 😉

Its your option to trust a web host in backing up files if you don't then you backup your files by the self and so it WHF don't give your files back you cant say that fraud how is it. You got the service you paid for or got for free which was hosting and I am sure in the T.O.S that WHF may not be responsible for loss of backups. And you don't have a clue how hard it is to run a web host and your not the only customer at WHF so be patient. I used to be on WHF too. I really used to like it but its as a free web host and without any paying customer how could they possible afford to purchase servers. And WHF kept their site up for a really long time, even as a free host. SO STOP COMPLAINING AND BE PATIENT.

You don't know what I have clues about, so don't sit there and assume that I'm a dumbass. I understand how difficult it would be to be responsible for a lot of websites. Even though I have never owned a web host, but I do understand. My website has been down for more than two days now and I'm pretty sure that it shouldn't take too long to send all of their customers backups. I'm trying my best not to be impatient, but I have had lots of images uploaded onto my FTP that people were using, and they most likely appear up as broken images. If free hosting is the reason why they shut down their hosting, then they could of just put up more paid packages and got rid of the free hosting.
My old forum ForuMansion was the forum that was being hacked, and Nathan kindly volunteered to help me switch to his hosting. And that time when they had a downtime issue that was interrupting WHF's host, it turned out that it was never my site. Don't go pointing fingers when you don't know the truth.

What do you expect if it's a free host?

They have 1 free package, a couple of post to host but I thought they earned enough from their paid hosting to be able to afford big servers.

How can you earn enough from P2H to purchase a reliable server?

Actually, that's true, but not for all hosts. I use x10 Hosting for my zombie forum, and I've had it for around 10 months now. I trust them. I also trust WHF... the owner and I were really good friends and talked a lot. There's specific hosts that you shouldn't trust, and like you said, it's the ones that say 'free' in them, but that doesn't mean that all free hosts shouldn't be trusted.

Yeah I stereotype them but for the life of me I can't remember any free hosts that are still up since a month.

Or..Hawkhost.com Thats what this site it on.

X10hosting is quit a good free webhost. Might be the best one out there.

I've heard a lot of negative comments about x10 though. I don't understand why so many people diss on it. It's a pretty decent host.

Oh and by the way, it's been 4 days now since Web Hosting Fox has been down, and I still haven't received a backup (which should only take about 5-15 minutes to download and email me.)
