I smoke it all the time, I don't see why it should be illegal? It can be very useful for medical purposes and it's no more harmful then tobacco... in fact the main side effect of marijuana is you might become paranoid whilst if you smoke you can get lung cancer and other forms of cancer as a result of smoking... tobacco has potentially worse side effects and is legal so marijuana should be legal... plus someone made a very good point on gateway drugs and how marijuana wouldn't be considered a gateway drug if it was a legal... I agree with that point >.>

Don't think so, as the government would loose support from a lot of people in the tobacco, alcohol, and medical industries. Marijuana alone can't make up for those 3 giant industries.

Lobbyists pay the government $$ to push their laws... its legal bribery. Alcohol, Tobacco, and most certainly the medical industries would take a hit. Not to mention if industrial hemp gained more popularity you're looking at paper & cotton companies along with many more too. Not gonna happen.

I think that's speculation which can't really be used in a debate. I'm still not convinced it would cost the government more to legalise it.
