weed/marijuana and your views?

Anything that is misused can ruin your life. The key is controlling your own life, not letting a thing like weed control it for you
Not having the government do it for you.

@Nicholi: Not so much? The way to decrease the debt is by increasing economic growth. The larger the economy the higher government revenues are.

@Bono: So, once Marijuana is legal, then do you think people will si ton their porch happily abiding by the law? No, they would get an illegal drug which is far more dangerous. It is known as a gateway drug.
Omg the stupid fucking gateway drug myth. Weed is not a gateway drug(heck it isn't a drug, but a natural plant.. The only reasons why you see alot of weed smokers also snort coke or use meth. Is because weed is not their first nor main .

I have been smoking weed for well over 4 years and have not touched anything else. I also know alot more people that have not touched anything but pot aswell.

So please buzz off with your myth.

I believe it should be legalized and taxed just like alcohol and tobacco. I also feel though that employers should still have the right to test for it if they wish.

If you want a good job...don't do it. You want to be a pothead...go right ahead.

Actually like Irving said, marijuana can only be considered a gateway drug because it is bundled in that category. If cigarettes were illegal and were sold by the same people who sell crack you'd be more likely to be coaxed into trying crack.

Also, a study in the states showed that only around 1% of regular marijuana users use cocaine, and less than 1% use heroin. Besides, an opium high is different than a marijuana high, people don't just move onto heroin for a stronger high.

Regular users normally smoke mids anyway because of the cost, and as such their tolerance rises slower which dispels the myth of people needing to move onto stronger grades.

If you want a good job...don't do it. You want to be a pothead...go right ahead.
Stereotyping marijuana users is unfair. Not everyone who smokes weed is a lazy bum mooching off their friends... someone who smokes pot and is lazy will be lazy anyway; with or without the weed.

I agree, there's a lot worse things that are legal than Cannabis that kills Human Life...

Alcohol.

Honestly, having it illegal just makes it much easier to make money. Look at how many people in the US (and Canadians who smuggled beer to the US) made their fortunes in the 30s bootlegging during the US probation. When the probation ended, most of them became well-respected businessmen.

Having said all that, why intoxicate yourself? You blow your paycheck in getting a "high" for a bit then a "low" for the whole day. After a while, I understood why it's "hara'am" to intoxicate yourself in Islamic law (I'm agnostic, for the record, but a lot of my friends are Islamic), after spending four years in High School watching people waste their life away through intoxication. What a shame.

So true and it's the same now. B.C. itself makes over 9 Billion a year in the trade. Not to mention around 1% of homes are grow ops there.

Uhmm you can have a good job and still smoke pot. I know I have a good job and smoke. My mom has been smoking since like her teens and she is doing fine. Pot has nothing to do with being lazy. Lazy people are always lazy.

Don't care. Government can legalize it and I won't care. Just realize the government will tax the living hell outta it and the price could go up. (FYI A pack of smokes in NY is nearing $10)

Would go down. Marijuana is worth more than gold.

(And if someone wants cigs they should buy them in Poland; $3-4 a pack tops 😛)

I love the way you all totally ignored my post, is that for any reason, burying your head in the sand about the hard facts is a normal reaction, don't sweat it 😉

I didn't ignore it, I simply stated that anything can be abused if you're not careful.

Surely you are abusing your body by smoking weed?

Mental health issues can arise from drug abuse after just one go...not just if you over do it 😉

Abuse is the name of the problem. If someone lives just thinking about weed/alcohol/whatever and only functions during their high then yeah, that is a problem. It's definitely healthier to not smoke anything, but I honestly think cigarettes do a lot more damage than weed; after all, a lot of teens smoke or try weed and most stop in their adult lives, while teenagers who start smoking cigarettes often do their whole lives.

To be honest, we can't know too sure about marijuana yet. The states refuse to do any further testing, apart from the nixon campaign in which they put gas masks over monkeys for 5 minutes killing braincells and then saying it was the marijuana that killed them.

Holland I believe has higher suicide rates so who knows, maybe marijuana does heighten the chance of suicide when someone has depression; but anti-depressants do the same.

For all we know marijuana could be the most dangerous substance in the world; but so could anything else in our lives.

I don't care if it's legal or illegal. As long as I have the right connections I am good. 😛

Getting blazed today for the first time in 4 years. Today I will be on cloud 10.

B.C. is one of the wost in all of North America. In Canada, Ottawa was #2, amongst other places.

Too bad. I can do what I want with my body. Go worry about something else.

There's a bill in the senate now which says that you won't be able to grow your own food at home without all this FDA red tape. It's in the name of "food safety". 😕

You sure can and I wouldn't want to try to stop you, it's your life.......just don't bring your hissy fit moods and attitude to the forum, I don't need to worry about pot heads, they don't even know what day of the week it is 😉
