I more or less agree keeping in mind that opium comes from a natural plant as well. I'm still waiting for someone to give me a good reason why pot is illegal and alcohol is legal. Alcohol is 10 times more damaging to you than pot. Now admittedly, I am a recovering addict, but I still believe that the use of any drug should be an individual's choice, not the governments.

Key words "comes from". Coke also comes from a natraul plant as does herion if I remember correctly.

However they are still very dangerours because they are made with other chemicals and crap and can kill you. Where as weed cannot,but again do not get me wrong weed does have some negatives,but death thankfully is not one of them. Unless ofcourse your silly enough to drive under the influence.

More often than not "drugs" in nature are usually relatively harmless. Hell, Mushrooms cause less problems than weed, unless you screw something up real badly or you eat a poisonous one lol.

Why should cigarettes or alcohol be legal to people over the age of 21. More deaths have occured from cigarettes & alcohol than almost anything else. Hell I mean so many people get lung cancer every year. I'd really love to know one legitimate reason that marijuana should be illegal. I understand having laws against "smoking it in public" but I don't agree that somebody can't smoke weed in the privacy of there own home. I know many people who don't smoke who agree. Marijuana make you "out there" but it doesn't make you "dumb" like alcohol does. Alcohol is so very very much worse for you than weed. I was in debate class and I've debated legalization of marijuana and people who dislike marijuana agree with most of my views.

THE MAIN REASON MARIJUANA IS ILLEGAL IS BECAUSE THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT IS TO MORONIC TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO TAX IT, AS THEY DO WITH CIGARETTES!

Marijuana was legalized in California... they had to do so or else everyone would be in jail :lol:

So it is not completely illegal but it is not jail worthy in California. Although, they barely take any action on Marijuana.

Yeah that's what I thaught basically it's not legal yet but the law enforcement just isn't as interested in spending a bunch of money to bust users. To many people in California smoke to lock them all behind bars. Besides people will keep smoking weed wether the law says you can or not.

People who say it's not addictive need to wake up.

According too http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/the ... -addictive it states (to sum it up) the majority of smokers won't develop dependent on marijuana. Kind of like alcohol. According to that link, around 15% of drinkers develop a major dependency, as opposed to around 9% of marijuana users.

They also claim that between 10%-30% of marijuana smokers will at least fall into a minor addiction. Neither of these statistics are 0%, which means it does not qualify as "not addictive".

I repped you for this post. There's a difference between alcohol and marijuana in it's different forms of dependency. With alcohol you for more of a phsyical and psychological dependency. With marijuana the addiction if only psychological. Besides the government has alcohol legal and more people have died from alcohol related incidents than other drugs put together. Marijuana is very much a safe form of buzz than alcohol and everyone knows. Now if governments could tax the hell out of it than it would be legal!
