Letting seperate states pick and choose is like letting seperate states choose if they want the Constitution.

hehehe... Go Canada!

Now if only voting was mandatory... like our sisters down South.

To me, a lot of people who complain are the ones who don't vote.

QFT.

I'm ineligible to vote because I'm 17, not 18. Also, I wouldn't be voting in the States because I'm a Canadian.

Meh, same thing wherever you go. People don't vote and complain.

Wow, this topic has gone way off topic.

I am sooo happy it passed I really don't care what other people say about bad things that are going to happen I just so grate full and happy .

Well, have fun being taxed. It's ignorance to support something you know almost nothing of. Obama is just an opinionated as Rush Limbaugh and other conservatives. Don't blindly listen to democrats without listening to conservatives too. (and the other way around).

What do you mean have fun being taxed? We already payed a shitload for the previous healthcare system, at least this way that shitload is going to a better cause and is going to stop insurance companies from not letting people with pre-existing conditions get healthcare.

It will also stop health insurance companies from existing.

No. It will stop AIG from making the same mistake all over again by preventing guys like them from dropping coverage when a claim is made. Short Term profits over bad rep? Not my cup of tea. And gee, you have problems with your taxes? Most other countries get taxed more than you yet get much more in return from the government.

Higher taxes slow down the economy. The more rich people spend the better the economy moves. If every penny is taxes away from the people they will not engage in capitalism.

These regulations are destructive. It doesn't turn the government into a cop making sure they do the right thing, it turns the government into an executioner.

Rich people don't really spend too much (if they do, many of them don't really spend wisely). A well-developed country doesn't have as big of a gap between the rich and the poor. Think of a corrupt country like Haiti, Honduras, etc. You got maybe a couple leaders who are richer than every citizen combined.

As much as we hate someone like Fidel Castro, at least he's doing his part in educating their citizens and actually funding stuff to save the environment. Even their healthcare plans are better than the Americans'.

What are you saying? Can you PLEASE say that again? Cuba/Canada has a better healthcare system than america a couple years ago?

........................

Remember the Canadian politician who took a quick plane to the US when he needed health care? People who glorify people like Castro and Chavez are socialist propagandists. Many of you seem to believe every word the media feeds you.

everyone is seriously overthinking this. I think we have cut this topic down to ever word the Bill has said. It is simple, i think it is just a yes or no. I support it because I am with my country.

You cannot expect a president to make all the right choices that you want, but I am proud to say I am an american, and whatever my country wants to do, well then do it! I will probably never be president of the US, and I'm ok with that, so I have no room to really speak on why or why not I like the health care bill or dislike it. I live in America. I go by what other people do, I am not out to change the world, or go up to Obama and say this should be changed, no I just go with what they do.

Thank you

@THT: You are a citizen of the united states of america and it is your civil duty to remove any administration you see as wrong and keep an eye on political matters to ensure that the government is kept an eye on. Being an american citizen should be an honor and you should take an active role in the government and voting, which is a right you would miss very much if you were to find yourself in North Korea. Voters "going with the flow" is what makes bad policy pass without scrutiny. No matter what your position on the matter is, I believe everyone should take interest in political matters and vote for what they think is right, not what the president thinks is right. Yes, those things can be the same or different, for all I care.
