Obama is a Muslim?

I see people going on and on about how they don't trust him because he is an Arab or a Muslim, but can I ask you, what do you care at all if he is a Muslim or an Arab? Does it really bother you if he is a practicing Muslim?

If he is, it's going to cause some problems. America is a country that is built upon social sterotypes, that is the way we rule things. The old fashion "white and black" has now been divided into "emo and obese" and the such. One of the larger sterotypes, the one where anyone from a middle eastern country is a terrorist, is also very strong. If Obama turns out to be one it will cause a lot of "un-safe" feelings for American people, we won't be willing to trust our leaders as a whole.

Personally I blame the media, they control 99% of our lives right now, and with Twitter and Facebook media news spreads faster, meaning even more control.

It doesn't matter to me at all, America is supposed to be a free country, where people can make their own choices. There isn't anything written saying the president has to be a white christian, although I see a lot of republicans thinking that way.

Extremist Muslims use it as justification for terrorism, though. Muslims that are simply about peace and love ( like any other religion ) will use the word to talk about struggles, like, for example people thinking they are all terrorist.

you need to check up on some info there. many presidents keep their friends away from them because they felt it unfair. so please stop saying things when you dont know. and yes, in chicago the majority of his close friends, including his closest friend, are extremist muslim. and damn, it doesnt get anymore left. so far everything he's done is left. anyone that knows politics knows that. maybe you should move to china or russia or the netherlands. you'd love it there. liberalism at its best
