What is more important Backlink or Content?

I would rather say content is an important criteria after all Google updates as I helps to rank your website. But considering backlinks, they are also an important part of off page seo, as they build domain strength and drive traffic to your website.

You need content, otherwise all your SEO efforts are futile. Without good promotion / SEO said content will remain un-read, which is a pity, so you actually need both. Start with a nice design and great content (make the site look as professional as possible) and promote like there's no tomorrow 🙂

I also agree with [user]TheAkkadian[/user] on the fact that you cannot have one without the other. You need both for your efforts to end up paying off in the end, however just because you have "content" doesn't mean a thing, it depends on the content and how will it's written and how well it appeals to audiences that you pull in with your SEO efforts. They both play hand in hand so having one without the other is rather pointless. 😛

In my opinion content is more important because when someone click on your site on the search engine that's what they see. Yet you still need some number of quality backlinks so that Google bot will have a way to reach your site.

I don't think you can look or try to understand backlinks and content this way. They are both equally important and they depend on each other. No one will read your content if they don't know it exists.

Content is more important. We make content for reader not for google. So Content is priority! However back link is quite important. Normally Content is about 40% and back link is about 30% 😀

Content makes more keywords link to your site while backlinks rank them up. You could make a website with one word and get high quality backlinks but that would rank the word and your domain up to the page 1 list while you can make a wikipedia like page and get inside the list with any word, from page 1 to page 9000+ but your domain and important keywords are mostly not on top1 search result.

In the end it depends on what you want to do, pages like agar.io only want their name on the top.

Content is king (in my opinion). In the long run without new, steady, interesting, and current content you will still have a board that is lifeless no matter how many new members you can get.
