What was your first forum?

I'm 26 now and my first forum was when I was 13 years old (2003). I created my first forum using phpBB2 it was general forum about just topics of random stuff. I remember I had big plans for it but of course it died within 4 months, had like 13 other members posting but it got slower and slower. It was also on one of those free hosting iirc. But man was that a launching experience!

I had phpBB but I was massively inexperienced regarding spam so it didn't last. I might have even though the spambots were real people. :meh:

Oh man. I think my first forum was webtalkzone.com, and I had it for like 2-3 months before I sold it after losing interest. I made a decent profit though.

A music forum in 2005, I made out of boredom when my sister told me about InvisionFree. It lasted a few years, which is pretty good for something I made on the fly.

what you run now?

I never had my own, but I remember the first one I joined. It was a social networking forum on phpBB 2 (I think). Long gone now.

I believe the first forum I ever had was a gaming forum called Unlimitaled on Invisionfree. I was a middle schooler at the time, so I didn't understand all the logistics of forums and whatnot (I've definitely grown a lot over the years). I was able to get a few friends on it, but it never kicked off too well. I can't remember when I gave up on it, but it hasn't been used in years. I never closed the site though, so it can still be accessed.

My first forum was a modding site. The software was an old forum board. When we launch, I had roughly 20 people on the team so it was active since day one. Most were Xbox friends or real life friends. It ended soon since everyone wanted power and one of the staff members were doing some shady stuff. The website is still up actually but it's 2010 old. lol

My first forum that I co-administered was on the InvisionFree software way back in the very beginning days of forums. The forum was called "PiratesRandomRoom". Don't ask me what it mean't as I have no clue haha. I just helped with it. It was a unique general discussion forum that got a few hundred members before the owner shut it down for no apparent reason.

I joined boards.ie an Irish forum with probably next to a million users now. It's been around since the late 90s. It's pretty much the go to place for Irish people to find out stuff. Almost like a city notice board except it's for the entire country. XD.

After that, it was probably a small anime forum called Evabeast.com around 2003.

Oh, I thought you were asking what was the first forum you joined. Haha! I certainly dont and never owned the above. I am blaming the pain medication on not reading OP properly LOL!

I actually never "owned" a forum for long. I had a graphic design site back in 2007. My fellow admin was a big child and did some things, so I closed it down and took up a mod position on a forum that I loved at that time. Even Sakuga City is not owned by me. It's a community project. At the beginning, I was nominated to take ownership, but was in a position where I knew I'd have to pay tax on "income" that wasn't even mine while I was on contract employment. My fellow admin from Canada stepped in and took it on. Basically, the site belongs to the community, and the "owner" is the caretaker.
